Needless to say the wife doesn't make it down here very much, one bonus of having a creepy cellar.
I got the same situation for mine and I love it!
I'm using a Breezaire spec'd to cool 240 cu ft. More than twice the actual size of my cellar. Didnt want to work it too hard. About an $800 unit shipped.
Here's a pretty recent shot (though I've added a few bottles since).
And here's what's in it http://www.beercellar.me/cellar/josh
My buddy Mick came by for some beers and took a few cool shots with his Canon fish eye. More here:
Where did you get your wine rack?
Either Amazon or BB&B. I love it because it expands to add more and secures to the wall.
Whoops, first pic didn't come through:
After look at ALL your cellar pics I can easily say this is the most beautiful cellar I have ever seen. Very much wish I could share a beer with you right now!
I'm sick of all these "good looking" cellars! Here's my storage closet (cellar). It's not much, but it keeps a steady 55-60* year round. These are some old pics. The good stuff is hiding. Time to play Eye-Spy!
I store all my ~12oz bottles in Banker's Boxes and usually try to keep them organized. The left box is for 1 year storage. The right box is for 2+ years.
I have most of my large format bottles up here. Organized thusly: Stouts>Barleywines>Belgians>Sours
I'm going to start building racks for them so it looks "fancier"
smart idea dude
I like using milk crates, they hold 16 bombers perfectly, but the bombers are too tall to be able to stack crates
Moved north for the winter from:
All the goodness in transit
Arrival north. Surprisingly (to me at least) the fridge can reach 50 degrees, may leave some long agers there permanently:
Got a new cellar from my friend who doesn't use the cooler anymore. Has three racks that fits 42 beers in each rack plus the bottom is for bombers. Also have a 400
Beer sliding glass door fridge similar to this one that holds my everyday beers. I picked this one up
Just for cellaring.
5 GI coffee
4 cherry rye (had 5 but brother wanted to Drink wen for helping me
1 rasp truffle
6 CW Bbs
8 CW Peruvian morning
These are just the nuts and bolts to this cellar. Have so many great beers to chose from. If I ever make a dent in this it'll be time to reload for 13-14 releases!
Hats off to you, sir. I want to visit you and just lay on the floor. Those Blushing Monks made me weep.
What year Dark Lord is that on the bottom shelf?
Looks like a 2011.
Maybe it's just the resolution or the black background, but looks like a gold waxed swingtop from the old days to me.
Looks like Yellow Wax from 2011 to me.
I've finally gotten these guys onto a decent shelf!
The Thermometer is reading about 57F
Still adding some finishing touches to the room but the Lambic is all there
do you even lambic bro?
I will trade every non-sour in my cellar for this.
edit: Do you have some design plans for this? Would love to build something like this down the road.
FUCKING. GORGEOUS. Well done sir.
I thought it looked swingtop-ish as well
What's with the tommy budjanec boards above the fridge? Funny, I used to (well, I still do a couple times a week) skate...and I remember him fro the duffs wonder years video...and I think some random footage in some early progression videos too. I used to fill my mind with worthless skate knowledge (and I guess some of its still there) but now I fill it with worthless beer knowledge
Not much right now, drank a lot of it and there's more in the fridge. Gonna have to find another spot soon though, this one is a bit small.
Tommy is one of my best friends. We moved out to CA together. He had that board signed for me by Jerome Bettis! I still skate also, but just on the weekends with my kids... now I surf and collect craft beer.
That's really funny you noticed. Cheers
No plans. The racks are modular kit form from wineracksamerica.com ... you have to assemble yourself, but are easy enough to do. I had to make minor modifications to get them in the room (ceiling is an inch too short). Total capacity of the racks shown in the photo is 440 bottles.
The nice thing about the ones from wineracksamerica, is that they'll hold 375ml bottles. With some of the other racks out there (that even look similar), the 375mls will slip through the positioning posts. My Armand'4s are too big, but they have racks for magnums that I'll need to get.
Is that the Kenmore freezerless refrigerator?
Yes it is.
Just picked up a freezerless fridge and loaded it up. Only disappointing thing about it is there is not a lot of room for 750s, but ill make due.
This is my two week old cellar.
Your picture link is broken.
Which Avery beer did you stockpile in the pic? Can't read it.
With a little zooming it looks like some Odio Equum & Oud Floris.
Yeah it's a mix of Floris and Equum, heavy on the Equum. Love that stuff.
