Speaking purely in terms of how the beer tastes, I wouldn't either -- but remember that the judges are judging the beer not just on taste, but style. I have to think that they chose not to award a gold in Robust Porter because Coco Loco deviates from the style a bit (primarily due to the coconut).

Aren't you even more eager to try Mecktoberfest now? :p
  5. actually I stopped caring about Mecktoberfest. Thats old news. Im on to other walez, bro.

    total sarcasm on my part.

  6. Congrats to both breweries. Well deserved medals for both of them.

Anyone know if any other Charlotte breweries entered beers? or if these breweries entered any other beers?

Birdsong was the only other Charlotte brewery to enter. Wort and Yeast has a good post summarizing which beers these and other NC breweries entered: http://www.wortandyeast.com/2012/ncbeer-at-2012-gabf
