Damn, I assume that's in Houston?
I haven't seen any in at least a couple of months, and I always keep an eye out for it when I spot Southern Star beers.
The last place I knew that had it was hubbell and hudson. they had a pretty good stock 2 months ago, but its gone now. So they need to get poppin on that Valkyrie.
What is DQ?
A bottle shop in Houston.
of course SW side. It sucks living on the North side sometimes....
Its worth the drive if youre bored and looking for something new
Don't know if this has been covered, but who is the "AM" part of this beer that made this awesome recipe. Apparently the guy is a genius! Would like to know his story.
it's hardly even outside of downtown.
that's pretty much the only area of town to score the more limited stuff. Midtown/Downtown/Smith St Specs (all one place) and D&Q.
yeah, but driving to the other side of downtown is much further than driving to like 1960 or beltway. i just get jealous of all the selection SW and West side oh houston has and dont have to drive to downtown.
i've wondered the same thing. would like to meet him. and get his recipe!
Homebrewers Steve Capo and Charles Vallhonrat, aka The Sly Bastards
West side sucks for good beer.
so, who's going to the anniversary party?
Have they released a taplist for this?
i want to but my son has so much going on with baseball right now, that i dont want to buy tickets and not be able to go.
at least ya'll have a whole foods that has growler fills and that badass HEB.
North side? nada
I live at the beltway and harwin.
There is nothing out there. lol
Our whole foods has a beer selection on part with a Kroger...

The bad news? Saturday might be rainy for the anniversary party. The good news? We have aquired the warehouse next door, and there will be plenty of (dry) room to party! Come celebrate our 5th year in business and our most recent expansion with us this Saturday! There are still tickets left, but they are going pretty fast.
All that info and all those dates and not a word on Black Crack. What are they doing with that beer??
Black Crack will supposedly be in austin next week per twitter https://twitter.com/anavenueblog/status/309113667444686848
Damn, hopefully Black Crack isn't going to be as difficult as WBDPP was.
Lake Windcrest? Wtf? At the neighborhood club? and what are these "tastings" anyway?
I hope it doesn't drop Friday, my weekly beer budget is all kinds of fail.
Come on Matt.. man up.. you gotta do what you gotta do to quench your thirst!
oh, I'll buy it lol, it's just a matter of quantity haha.
I drive to downtown from clear lake for my beer. Wah.
I completely understand!
512 WBDPP wasn't really that hard... Abyss 2012, BB Gingerbread and BA Bigfoot were all harder personally.
I just want a date at this point but with all this trading I've been doing as of late - I need to slow the hell down lol
You have Nobi and the Shell station. Wah.
For the good stuff. They get tiny amounts of limited releases. Like a case.
I want some of that Black Crack. Don't tell my grandma though, she old southern and won't understand.
Don't I know it!
she just called E1G and asked me to save some for her?? (just messing) we should be getting some nxt week -
Gah! I might actually have to make a trip south of the river...
What river are you talking about? E1G is north of the river!
I agree on Abyss and ESPECIALLY BA Bigfoot. WBDPP I consider difficult just because it was scattered out on the release. And being in Waco, I have to make sure some will still be wherever I go by the time I get there.
lol it is, anytime I have to go further south than 51st street, it's "south of the river" to me. Traffic's just as bad whether it's on the north or south bank
