    From their email newsletter:

Fall is around the corner, and it's a good time for beer. We'll be releasing the four beers above over the next couple of months, so be on the lookout.

    • Mosaic Promise is our single malt, single hop beer brewed in honor ofArtPrize. It will be released starting on September 13 in Michigan, Wisconsin, greater New York City and greater Chicago. Read more.
    • Breakfast Stout's release harks the beginning of Stout Season. An oatmeal stout brewed with coffee and chocolates, it will be released in late September or early October, depending on distributor shipments in your area. Read more.
    • Dark Penance is an Imperial Black IPA and is the newest addition to our portfolio of world-class IPAs. It's the first beer to be added to our lineup since All Day IPA in spring 2012. It will be available across our footprint starting on October 1. Read more.
    • Harvest Ale is a limited release wet-hopped ale that celebrates the hop harvest. Its release is dependent on when we get our delivery of whole-cone hops into the brewery--it will likely be available sometime in October. Read more.

  8. I really liked Mosaic Promise when I got a growler of it in Grand Rapids last year.

  9. I had to settle for a little taster of it when I stopped to get a growler, since it was starred as not available for growler fills :(

I tend to try to have a six pack of an IPA and a six pack of a stout in my fridge at all times (along with a few various bombers). I bet I'm going to buy a case each of Breakfast Stout and Harvest Ale in October and consider myself set. Thanks Founders!

Fresh Breakfast Stout makes me happy.

  12. Huge Founders fanboy, this is good news! One of a few brewers I still pick up their beers in cases!

  18. Such a good season for beer. Harvest Ale and Breakfast Stout are fall classics for me. Looking forward to try the new ones too.

  19. BB will be more expensive this year, 120$ a case+ opposed to 70$-80$ in the past but I suppose that does not matter much to someone like yourself.

Also the 2 month later breakfast stout release is smart but it also rubs me the wrong way

I had a black ipa at there taproom a couple summer's ago, and I thought it was by far the best black ipa I've had in my life. If this is anything like that I will be absolutely psyched.

  22. Looking forward to all of these.. Of all the stouts, Breakfast Stout is easily the one I drink the most of. Wasn't as a big a fan of Harvest last year with the recipe change but still is a great beer. As for the Double Black IPA and Mosaic IPA, they sound right up my alley.

  23. Great seasonals, that aren't impossible to find, are truly what this site should get excited about.

I'll certainly start with a case of FBS this year. Hopefully the IBIPA will meet my unrealistically high expectations.

I've never heard of a place selling cases anyway, seems like most stores around here only get like 2 or 3 total.

  27. Founders is going to put out Old Curmudgeon and Backwoods Bastard this year at the same price as Kentucky Breakfast Stout, so whatever you paid for that you will pay for those.

Ok old man, don't shoot the messenger.

As you can see from my avatar I really like that beer. It's my favorite beer Founder's makes

  31. KBS cost was $88 this year, and only the limited releases are in that price tier. (KBS, Devil Dancer, Harvest and Backwoods Bastard). You can expect Backwoods and Harvest will be $88 a case to stores, with markup the 'case cost' buying from a beer shop would turn up around $100-120. Curmudgeon is not included in this price tier.

  32. Will Founders ever distribute in Maryland????

Neither harvest nor bwb were in the same tier as kbs last year, so I'm not going to believe this "same tier as kbs" bs until someone posts a factual article to this end.
