Headed back to Denver for a short trip

Discussion in 'US - Mountain' started by flipdog0, Jan 15, 2013.

  1. I was last out this way in early October, I went back and checked out all the beers I have missed and was wondering if anyone knows if I have a chance to get any of these on the shelf around town. I will be in town for a couple of days and will be able and willing to travel around and pick up beers. Any help would be appreciated.

The Lost Abbey- Mayan Apocalypse Judgment Day
North Coast- Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XV
    Russian River- Pliny The Elder
    Crooked Stave- Nightmare On Brett
    Crooked Stave- La Brett D'Or
50/50- Eclipse - Most any variant
Left Hand- Barrel Aged Wake Up Dead
    Dry Dock- Bligh's Barleywine
    Cantillon- Fou Foune
    Cantillon- St. Lamvinus
    Cantillon- St. Gilloise
    Deschutes- Abyss
    Firestone Walker- XVI Anniversary Ale
    Great Divide- Barrel Aged Hibernation
Crooked Stave- Sentience Bourbon Barrel Aged
    Crooked Stave- Oculus
    Odell- Friek
    Deschutes- The Dissident
New Belgium- La Folie Vintage 2012
    Crooked Stave- Sentience
    Avery- Odio Equum

  2. Out of that list I think you may be able to find:

    Abyss
    XVI
    BA Hibernation
    Friek
    Odio Equum
    Eclipse
is BA Wake Up Dead released yet?
    something from Crooked Stave
depends when you're here for Pliny

the rest, good luck and even these will require some searching.

  3. This is all based on trying to find stuff in Denver.

Pretty sure I saw the BA Wake Up Dead this last week.

    Also have seen:
The Lost Abbey- Mayan Apocalypse Judgment Day
North Coast- Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XV

Don't know of anyplace that has Abyss left

  4. 50/50 is at Argonaut right now, BA hibernation shouldn't be too hard to find as well.

  5. Thanks for the info guys, it won't be the first time I have done the search. Any sightings down in the springs? I used to have luck sliding down there and finding semi whales on the shelf.

  6. I usually make the rounds to all the spots on the south side of Denver and based on what I've seen here's my thoughts on what you might find:

The Lost Abbey- Mayan Apocalypse Judgment Day - some places still have this
North Coast- Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XV - haven't seen it
Russian River- Pliny The Elder - depends on when you're here; shipments are about every 6 weeks (you'll be able to find some sours though if you wanted those)
Crooked Stave- Nightmare On Brett - maybe
Crooked Stave- La Brett D'Or - maybe
50/50- Eclipse - Most any variant - you'll be able to find these (some stores only carry one or two variations though)
Left Hand- Barrel Aged Wake Up Dead - it's been out for about a month but I bet you can find it in certain shops
Dry Dock- Bligh's Barleywine - you'll be able to find this though you may have to hunt
    Cantillon- Fou Foune - nope
    Cantillon- St. Lamvinus - nope
    Cantillon- St. Gilloise - nope
Deschutes- Abyss - there's likely a few stores that have a few bottles
Firestone Walker- XVI Anniversary Ale - you'll be able to find this
Great Divide- Barrel Aged Hibernation - yep
Crooked Stave- Sentience Bourbon Barrel Aged - doubt it
Crooked Stave- Oculus - doubt it
    Odell- Friek - yep
Deschutes- The Dissident - nope...been sold out for a while
New Belgium- La Folie Vintage 2012 - yep
Crooked Stave- Sentience - doubt it
    Avery- Odio Equum - maybe

Message me if you want more specifics. Also if you are up for any in-person trades while you're here I'd be interested. Enjoy your time in Denver.

North Coast- Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XV - don't think so
Russian River- Pliny The Elder - not out now
Crooked Stave- Nightmare On Brett - North Boulder Liquor (mightve been another small store) had some I believe
Crooked Stave- La Brett D'Or - NBL, but probably out
50/50- Eclipse - Most any variant - Superior Wine had 6 originally, many others still around
Left Hand- Barrel Aged Wake Up Dead - NBL
Dry Dock- Bligh's Barleywine - Superior last I saw (awhile ago)
    Cantillon- Fou Foune
Cantillon- St. Lamvinus - I think Backcountry Pizza has this one for $40 ( must drink there)
    Cantillon- St. Gilloise
Deschutes- Abyss - On tap at West End Tavern since the 10th
Firestone Walker- XVI Anniversary Ale - Plenty of places (Harvest)
