Home brewing with Hacker Pschorr style bottles

Discussion in 'Homebrewing' started by Sbekolay, Apr 3, 2013.

  1. Has anyone tried bottling their home brew in Hacker-Pschorr style flip top bottles?
I have a bunch of 1 litre Howe Sound bottles that use the same flip top for re-sealing; I like the idea of a 1 litre bottle that I can either share or enjoy over a few nights.
Any reason this style of bottle wouldn't work?

any flip-top style bottle should be solid enough to hold at least a few volumes of CO2. Pop out the rubber gromit to sanitize it fully before seating it in place. They should reseal a few times no problem.

I have one I have used for 3 different beers and so far it's holding up great.

half of everything I bottle is in swingtops. Love those things.
