Anyone know of any places with unlimited purchase per customer in the Chicagoland area?
West Lakeview Liquors. $17.49/six-pack
Woodmans Aurora $15.99/sixer. Not sure how much is left tho. Obviously not in the city but just throwin that out there.
Marianos grocery stores
I was at West Lakeview last night and they were sold out - I think he said they went through 17 cases in less than a day...
Good to know. The initial run on Hopslam in Chicago typically works that way. Then the second run languishes on shelves until March.
Armanetti in Aurora has Hopslam 18.99, and Black Note 4packs for $26.99. I'm not sure about the purchase limit on the hopslam.
Binny's Schaumburg, told me about 6 cases sold this morning, I was there at 11:45 or so got my case, watched about 5 more cases go out the door. About 15 more on floor....
As of 12:30 PM Binny's on Grand had three cases of Hopslam left on the floor. One six-pack per customer limit, $15.99.
It was moving quickly.
Walgreens in the city has hopslam. State and Randolph still has it. Got 2 sixers yesterday yesterday no limit $16.99 per. check out beermenus multiple locations have it in Chicago.
Armanetti in Aurora still has black note. 2 or 3 four packs left. Just grabbed one. Limit one per
anyone know of anywhere else that has Black Note? Aurora is quite a hike for me...especially if they only have a few 4pk's left
Formost in Villa Park, near elmhurst, is selling single bottle, limit one, @ $8.99 a pop.....
Schaumburg has BN, limit 1 bottle, $6.49. Not sure how many bottles, they are at the service desk, 6 packs of Hopslam for 15.99 as well.
Just went to my "old faithful" spot on the northside(Prestige) and they had 20 cases left with no limit...which I whittled down to 17 cases. They also had a few cases of Black Note which is now down to 2 after my visit.
I know this is a serious post, and that's just awesome, but I can't help but think that this sounds very much like a post from someone from, say, Dekalb.
Thinking about driving out to DeKalb now.
I thought the exact same thing after reading that post. Hmmmm makes ya wonder...
did you start this thread to brag then? I hope you dont get tired of drinkin 3 cases of hopslam..... who am I kiddin, your probably trading 80% of it.
We know it's not BrohammedAli/BreakingBad because he used punctuation and capital letters.
I'm from Arlington Heights actually...is there something I should know?
And no I'm not trading any of it. I drink it across a couple months. And no I'm not bragging either, went to the Binny's in Niles and they had a 2 sixer limit. So I thought I could ask my BA brethren if anyone knew of unlimited purchase spots...plus we could all use it as a resource to hoard. Kind of a win win for everyone. Then I went to Prestige by my work (Lawrence and Austin) and found out they got a bunch and are selling no limit. Just passing along some knowledge since I started the thread.
Best of luck to you, and I wouldn't have a clue, not living there. But just so you know dreams can come true, I bought my case off the top of a palate of $3k worth of Hopslam. Wow! If only it would stay fresh forever!
I have a couple bottles of Hopslam from last year and they are still prettie good...just got to keep them well. Mine are in my basement cellar (pitch black and 45 degrees year round). And would totally hugged that pile of beer for at least 10 minutes.
How is this a win win for everyone?
Not sure when they had it - but around 5:30 tonight there was none to be found, nor any sign of an empty spot on the shelves for it. Dangit.
As in people know what spots they can go to buy and hoard? Hoarding for the win! Sharing info benefits everyone doesn't it?
God I wish I could post meme's.
You have a skewed concept of winning, yours is more of the charlie sheen/Chicago Cubs sense.
Literally Ran out the door once I saw this message. Went to armanettis. Dude in front of me bought the LAST 4 pack of Black note. I knew i shoulda called first. On the upside i did score some hopslam and it is definitely amazing. So well balanced. Anyone know anywhere else that has Black note? in the western burbs?
Hopslam flies off the shelves, but Expedition Stout and Third Coast Old Ale sit for weeks/months at the same price. Baffling.
From an economics perspective, this is referred to as the 'Problem of the Commons.'
It is all relative to what else is available (somewhat). I used to drive up to Kenosha to get Ten Fidy (amongst other goodies), yet didn't even buy a 4 pack this year when we now get it. Why, cuz I could get BCS for $5 more. Haven't bought any Expy yet, although I will to throw in the cellar. But I grabbed a 6 pack of Hopslam at the first opportunity.
How many local/distributed DIPAs do we get in 12 oz bottles?
You bought cases of Black Note???
Yes I bought a case of Black Note.
Wow. Congrats on the find. That is amazing.
I heard that only 30 cases made it to the ENTIRE Chicago market (that is suburbs included) so if you scored an entire case that is one huge score.
