$60 for Deviation way back when. Wouldn't do it again.
$180.00 tenth anny Utopias
That's not true! Just the other night I bought a bottle of Utopias for $240 at the local bottle shop, then POUNDED it in the parking lot in one drink, an smashed the bottle against the wall.
It was worth it
That's why, when I bought it, it was in the chilled beer section... for those situations.
And yes, I will drink it. Probably over a six year period, but nonetheless.
I paid about $30 for a bottle of DuClaw Divine Retribution #2...I bought 4 bottles
How was it?
$215 10th anniversary Utopias, $50 Three Floyds Murda'd out,$36 Fruet
it's true. i saw the whole thing. and i cried because i don't know how to take black and white photographs with my cell phone.
I paid $25 and $23 for Elijah Craig 12 year and Evan Williams respectively this year. You are correct, not even close to being worth it. There's no beer under 10% ABV should cost more than $20. The Eclipses' should price no more than $15 and would still be average at best. But better value.
Never again. Passed last 2 years on this when I knew better.
$160 for Sam Adams Utopias a few years back.
After that, I paid $35 for a Bruery Fruet just two days ago.
$40 for BCBS Rare & $44 for Orkney Dark Island Reserve. Would do both again.
Honestly not that impressive. A lot of much better strong ales out there. Taste-wise I've had very similar dessert wines that cost far less than that!
Thanks. Beer store here selling 1oz for 15.00. Thought about it! Glad I passed.
I think I paid about $23 for a 12 oz. bottle of Lost Abbey's Red Poppy Ale at a bar. Probably wouldn't do it again.
I was out at a bar once and paid $29 for a 750 of Allagash 4. Saw the same beer in the bottle shop for about $22. Great beer but I'd much rather pay the $22 and open it myself and not pay and addition $7 to have some girl open it for me.
$15 on an 8oz glass of Brewdog Tokyo at World Of Beer and $15 on a 12oz bottle of Bitch Please (FFF/Brewdog collaboration)... Neither were worth it, but I don't regret spending the money to try them either
Does a magnum of Anchor Christmas count? $20
Over $200 for Utopias. Yes it did get enjoyed. However there were very few people I would share it with. Yes it was worth every penny. I also know some local spots that were selling it by the shot. Yes, they did sell out.
Highest price I payed was about 1 euro for 1 cl.
Just bought my most expensive tonight. $25 for a 22oz bomber of Naughty Temple from Toppling Goliath.
$30 for 12oz bottle, which followed a 6oz pour for $15 and a 3oz pour of KBE for $7.50.
$35 for King Henry. Best money I've ever spent at a bar. And the bartender was totally cool with me taking it home and not drinkning it there. Win and win.
Yankee Stadium $11 for a 16 oz Bud Light in a plastic cup.
I paid either $30 or $40 for Fruet. Can't remember. If it was $30 then the $35 bottle of 3F Shaerbeekse Kriek and $35 bottle of St. Lamvinus are my most expensive.
I was going to say Old Rasputin XIV, but then I remembered I got it for half off, so.... I don't know. Nothing too pricey I'm sure.
You won't! I was lucky to get mine from the source (~$13) so it makes paying for others like...
$10 12oz Uncle Jacobs
$10 12oz Rumpkin
$30 22oz 50/50 Eclipse
$27 750ml Oude Tart
a lot easier to swallow.
I would buy every one again sans maybe 50/50
38$ for a 2008 BCBS
just chimay blue ... $13.95 or whatever.
it and Rochefort 10 work out to just over 50 cents per ounce.
Moylan's Hopsickle also was in that range.
I figure until I know more about what it is I'm drinking, I need to stick mostly in the 22 cents per ounce and below range (that includes Stone IPA and Arrogant Bastard).
$32.99 for a swinging harry,
$24.99 for 3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend, both worth it.
have seen a guy try and get $300 for a Cognac Dark Lord online
30 for Eclipse Elijah Craig 12 Year.
Just yesterday. Three bottle of barrel aged speedway stout made with some sort of coffee. 96 dollars for 3 bottles
per ounce (store) i'd probably have to say angel's share at $21 for approx 12oz... per ounce (bar) around the holidays i had utopias at ~$24 for 1.5oz... and overall fruet was in the $35 neighborhood, maybe even a little more.
edit: as for whether i'd do it again, the answer is no across the board. all three were (are) stellar, especially angel's share and utopias, but not at those prices.
200 for my Tenth Anniversary Utopias. Checked it off the bucket list
Wow, that was a good price!
$22 for a bottle of Bolt Cutter 15th. $1/ounce.
$60 for a bottle of 2011 Dark Lord - worth every penny.
$55 for a bottle of 2012 Dark Lord...popping this Saturday night.
I'm ashamed to admit it, but $40 on eBay for Three Floyds for Dark Lord. I had wanted to get it for 4+ years and no chance. forgive me.
54 Dollars for a bottle of Bourbon County Rare.
$200 for a bottle of Utopias.
Also spent 50 euro a piece for vintage bottles of 3F in Beersel, Belgium at the 3F brewery cafe. Ended up with a 150+ euro tab. Wish I could do it everyday, well worth the money.
