I recently did a mixer sixer that cost me $32.

Then again, I'm sure that's nothing compared to people that have paid for KBS or Westy...

Every Avery release, where 6-packs run $40-60.

Yep, that six pack of Westy set me back $85. Most expensive six pack by far.

    What was that 6 pack?
  5. Paid something like 20 euros for a 6-pack of Caulier... but that included a nice wooden crate, still in use as a rustic magazine rack. I won't ask what that says about me.

Is Westvleteren 12 even worth the hassel when you could just walk into your neighborhood bevmo/ total wine and grab a Rochefort 10/ St. Bernardus abt. 12 for way cheaper, which apparently taste the same/ better.

    I'm just curious.

  7. Rochefort 10 in PA is still 9.50 a bottle. No way around spending a fortune.
  8. To answer the thread question, $30 for a 4 pack of BCBS, before tax. Oh well, only way to get it for me without trading.
  9. $16.99 for a sixer of Hopslam once or twice.

Westy 12 costs more so it haaaaas to be better, right? the answer to that riddle is no. same beer as ABT 12 and if there is a difference it's so miniscule that it doesn't warrant the small fortune you're gonna pay

    Peche Mortel
    Weyerbacher Insanity
    Rochefort 10
    Ayinger Celebrator
Dogfish Head Indian Brown (Felt like trying out some brown ales, though maybe should've went with Palo Santo Marron)
Victory Hop Wallop (Just another random beer to check off the Beer of Fame, trying to have as many on the list as I can.)

And yeah, I'm sure if you blind taste test it, Westy might not even turn out the best. Either way, never had it, but I suspect a lot of Westy is hype while the other Trappist beers are of similar, if not better, quality and you don't have to cut off an arm to find them.

$27 for a 4 pack of 2010 BCBS 2 days ago. I wouldn't have spent it on '12 but I figured an extra $7 was worth trying the '10 especially since it was just sitting on the shelf.

had one Westy XII brick that another customer wasn't interested in anymore ,
I inquired about it and next day it was mine for $60 Canadian (special occasion)

Buying a great beer cause it cost that much regularly , Deschutes 'Black Butte Porter' $18 - 6pack
currently on sale $16 at before mentioned store and main reason
why 'Happy Hour' has started early here on the Canadian side of the PNW
    currently , recently , yesterday , today & tommorow

Bell's Hopslam in the DC area easily sells from $22 to $26 out the door for a sixer.
  21. On the positive side, that includes tax.

Also, I missed Beer Geek Christmas at Heritage last year, but I understand Ed was going to be selling vertical 6-packs of BCBS ('07-'12) in specially made wooden carriers. I presume those cost a fair penny.
  22. Westy12 6pk $85. Sold individually for profit $65.

  26. I respect your underlying point, but Abt. 12 and Westvleteren 12 are not the 'same' beer, at least from all of the literature I've read ('Brew Like a Monk', for example)...while they may be similar, what leads you to think they're the same beer?
  27. Hopslam for $19.29 - never again unless its like $10
Currently the only expensive 6-pack I'm willing to buy is < 2 week old Sculpin @ $13.99

I get two bottles. But then I also spend another $20 for four 8oz. pours. I said hell no to Pentagram this year though. $24 for a 750? I left the store with a six of Sucks and a four of Plead the 5th and paid $19.

I bought 6 bottles of Kabert on eBay a couple of years back for like $125ish I think...definitely the most I've spent on 6 beers.
  37. That was a hell of a good price on both those.
Cheapest I saw Sucks was $9.99, and $10.99 on the Pt5 (not at the same store though)

Not even gonna ask you where you got those nice prices, but if you wanted to....
  38. PieOhMy

    PieOhMy Advocate (505) Minnesota Feb 23, 2013

Small embellishment, those were pretax prices. So was the Pentagram price though. It was 7.99 for the Sucks and 10.99 for the Plead. Hopslam was 15.99 a sixer.
