  1. I'm sure you saw by now. It's a new hop variety they are playing with. "Citra on steroids."

I saw yesterday that Relic is brewing a batch as well with this new Mosaic hop (they claim it has blueberry aromas). Lets see which of these awesome CT breweries can master it first!

  8. I've yet to try Mosaic but it is actually the daughter of Simcoe so I would think it may be closer to that than Citra.

Gold Stock ale now on for growler fills along w/ Ghost Pigeon, and Sea Hag.

In my Homer Simpson voice,"Hmmmm,Gold Stock!"

    Cheers All.......

  10. Mmm, Gold Stock indeed. Quite possibly my favorite beer they make, which is high praise indeed. If it's all gone by tomorrow I'm going to be pissed.

  11. Either way, I'm looking forward to trying it, those were their words not mine.

  12. I asked about FBD when I was at the brewery getting Gold Stock, apparently we can expect 1-2 more batches this year, 6-7 the following year.

  13. 6-7 batches? One would think we might get it canned/bottled then... Maaaaaaybe?

  14. Maybe, but I doubt it for a couple reasons. First, they tend to be protective of beers they feel are particularly delicate and subject to rapid deterioration with age. Galaxy Pale Ale, Gold Stock, Fuzzy Baby Ducks are all beers they feel are best uber-fresh. Second, when a beer gets hype behind it and they know they can sell an entire batch in-house, they don't have much of an incentive to send it into distribution where they only get a wholesale price instead of a full retail one.

If selling a few batches of FBD growler-only will pay for a the canning line they've been chasing for years now, then I say more power to them.

  15. Anyone know if there is any IST on the shelves in the Stamford area?

Heading down tomorrow be in the Jerry Springer audience! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! If anyone sees an episode with a drunk kid in a Hawaiian shirt, that's me.

    Cheers!

No clue about Stamford, but stop off at BevMax in Norwalk. They have a ridiculous display of bottles towards the front of the store...

(apologies for the quality.....oh, and this was taken sometime last week).

  18. Holy shit. Probably going to have to stop there.

Lolololol. Only a few stores in Hartford county were lucky to get a case. One bottle limits all around.

    Oh don't mind me...

Just making reference to a batch of Gandhi that was mostly allotted to other parts of the state while Fairfield County had been without since several months prior. NEBCo played along after receiving a bit of ire from angry "fans" by posting a picture of "Fairfield County's allotment" which was literally a 5 gallon carboy filled with a fermenting liquid.

did they drop the price? I stopped in there when IST was first released and they had them for $10.99 so I passed. If it's still $10.99 that probably explains why they have so many sitting on the shelves (ninety9 had them for $7.99)

    They were $7.99 here.

  33. What time is everybody showing up tomorrow?

  34. I'll probably swing by for a Gold Stock or two when they open, but I've got to teach from 2:30-3:45 so I won't be claiming my long-term bar stool until just before 4.

  35. Cool. I plan on arriving in the 3:30-3:45 timeframe as well.

  36. Prime is also apparently planning on having really good non-NEBCO beers on as well, as Flower Power and My Blueberry Nightmare were just tapped and Tilquin Gueuze is still on as well.

  37. I'm probably going to pop in at opening time for a beer, then I've got meetings and stuff, and I'll show up again around 4. I'm hoping to meet some of y'all. Is there an official BA secret handshake or haircut or something?
