New Gordon Ramsey places in Vegas

Discussion in 'US - Mountain' started by TravisSaps, Jan 1, 2013.

  1. I usually make it to Vegas on once or twice a year, so I'm familar with the usual rundown of places on the strip and, of course, the listing by Destral that is widely circulated.

My question involves the two new Gordon Ramsey places "BurGR" in Planet Hollywood and "Pub and Grill" in Caesars Palace. They both are brand new and I believe at the most have been open a few weeks. While their write-ups talk about the extensive beer list they will have (and the "BurGR" place states it has a special beer brewed by Stone), I can't find any listings of what they carry online.

I was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge of these place?

"Because one cannot live by BurGRs alone, BurGR Gordon Ramsay will offer a wide selection of American craft beers, with more than 30 beers served from a frozen tap wall. There will even be a BurGR draught created especially for this restaurant, made by Stone Brewing Co. in San Diego."

"Focusing primarily on small and large format American craft beers BurGR will serve more than 30 beers all from a stunning frozen tap wall. A brew worth special note is the special BurGR draught created especially for this restaurant and tailored to Gordon Ramsay’s tastes at Stone Brewing Co. in San Diego."

    from two of the results.
  3. Not to be too much of a smart ass, but I did Google it. Hence the reason why my post references they will have an extensive beer list and a special beer brewed by Stone. But nothing in my google search let me find "any listing of what they carry online" as I referenced in my original post. Your responses do not provide that information either.

If there is a Google search that has the beer list from either of those places, I will admit I'm an idiot for not locating it. But that is why I asked for first hand knowledge from this forum and those in Vegas.

See what happens when you don't pay enough attention and are just a smart ass. My apologies. I called the restaurant...they don't have their menu (nor beer list) online anywhere as of yet. Person on the phone said they currently have 84 beers (although nothing online I've come across says 84) available, 36 on tap.
  5. Thanks for calling. That is one thing I didn't even think of trying. I appreciate the effort!

Interesting...and very cool. I'll be back in Vegas in 2 weeks, so I'll swing by and give a report. I've seen a pretty decent uptick in the craft beer options on the strip over the last couple of years. For a long time it was pretty much just the Burger Bar and the Monte Carlo Pub (once they re-opened). Now it seems like a new place is opening every month. Now if only they could keep sticker shock down :p

  8. Sounds interesting. I wonder if it's actually a special beer from Stone of just something that's tweaked. Hope someone can chime in with info.

  10. Thanks for the responses. I guess it is so new not many people have been.
I'm going in February, so I'll definately have to try the Stone Beer. Both places are worth checking out. No matter what they have it has to be better than most places.
  11. I would agree completely with this. It is so hard to find good beers at even halfway decent prices on the Strip.

I'm planning on having lunch at BurGR on Friday. I'll try to remember to post my findings back here.

So the beer made by stone is bullshit. The bartender did not know what i was talking about and just gave me an I pad of their beer list. I left since the kitchen looked slammed and I was in a rush. The beer list was good nothing crazy and the food looked good.

Hit up BurGR in PH today. Good taps, nothing earth shattering, but the prices were surprisingly decent. No exclusives, but they did have $6 drafts of Oaked Bastard and Ruination. The usually expensive Innis and Gunn beers were $6, too. Food was good. Lots of good burger places in LV, but it was better than most.
The place in Ceasar's was getting slammed both times we went by. Wait times were more than an hour and it's a pretty massive place. Taps seemed pretty much the same as BurGR, but I didn't see any prices. Stopping in for a pint there seems borderline impossible 'til the newness fades a little.
Down that way it looks like they're putting in a second Yardhouse at the rebranded Imperial Palace. It's going to be called "The Quad" I think.

Project linq is where the third las vegas yardhouse will be. A tilted kilt will also be there.

Looking at some quick notes I google'd - it appears as though a good chunk of the area between Bill's and Casino Royale is being renovated by Harrah's/Ceasar's. That's probably a little overdue with all of the stuff popping up further south.

Was just in Vegas this pasty weekend. Looks like I should have hit up BurGR for a beer instead of Alex Todd's Pub. I ended up paying $12 for a pint of Anchor Christmas Ale. I wanted to drink more but was getting uncomfortable in the bent over position and couldn't justify paying those prices.

Funny enough, I had a 2009 Anchor Christmas for $6 at the Burger Bar a few months ago. While not everything is cheap there, they're the cheapest/best stocked place on the strip overall. While certainly not "cheap", they just sold a last 2010 Abacus a few days ago for $40...which actually isn't all that bad. Even after looking around this weekend, I still haven't seen anywhere cheaper or better if you're confined to the strip area.
The PUB (I'm guessing you mean Todd English's in the Aria) isn't affordable, but compared with Holstein's, you'd think it was a discount bar. Holstein's is probably the worst offender for mark-ups. I like the vibe of the place, but most of their beer prices are downright scary. Stuff that would go for $6-8 elsewhere would be literally 2x that there. The Monte Carlo Pub is another horrible offender, but their massive selection has enough choices so you can find a couple bargain items.

Yeah, Todd English's in the Aria. The idea that $12 for a pint of Anchor Christmas could be looked at in any way as a discount/cheap is absolutely ridiculous.
