Wouldn't expect to see anything until Wed, Thurs, or Fri...
The program is typically available only a couple days (max) before the festival.

  2. The program just shipped to the printer on Friday...the PDF version should be available in the next day or two. Kind of an odd Circus theme to the logo and program cover this year...

    GI's list is incredible.

  4. Not a single new beer.

    But some impressive stuff.

Grape Sofie = Screw You Jeppe, fyi.

You have had Bourbon County Manhattan Stout?

  6. FoBAB 2011, sir.

EDIT: Not saying it in a mean way. Moreso, giving heads up to everyone for database stuff here and at RB (and a heads up to Alex).

It was at FOBAB last year

  8. Going through the list once is exhausting, from both an excitement and database admin perspective.

Goose Island had BCBS Cherry at Stout Fest this year. It was fantastic.

What is this 'King Henry' that they have listed? That any good? ;)

  10. Laura is new, i think. Amara has 3 reviews, Blackberry Dominique has 2 reviews, BCBS Cherry has 2 reviews, and I don't even see BCBS Manhattan on BA. So yeah I guess there's nothing "new" from GI.

I guess nothing is getting done at work today!

  12. Laura was at the CCBW 2012 Media Presser thing at Haymarket.

It probably isn't in the db over here.

PS - No reason to be snarky. I wasn't trying to be. I look at everything from a database perspective when it comes to new beer from Illinois. I was just indicating that I didn't have to add anything to my database for Goose Island this year.. maybe an alt for Sofie w/ Concord Grapes..

On a related note, I love when the GTMW Program comes out because you get a ton of official commercial descriptions from breweries that rarely if ever put them out the rest of the year **cough** Half Acre **cough**

Is it worth waiting in line for? I am thinking so....

As a guy that comes from a family that consumes Manhattan's by the gallon, I was pretty unimpressed by it. Has this been aged in the manhattan barrels longer or did they keg them at the same time?

  16. Ofcourse.....you can spend over 1/2 the festival in the Goose Island line if you're not careful.
Along with Founders...those line are crazy long.

    I wish I could've tried Violet Hour's Barrel-aged Manhattan....bet that was ridiculously good.

  17. Was only being half snarky. Just trying to point out although not really "new" beers still many that almost nobody has gotten a chance to try. Unfortunately I had to sell my tix to a friend, because I will not be able to go.

Manhattan BCS is here - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1549/75324
Concord Sofie (aka Screw You, Jeppe) is not, but I will add it before Friday.

Adam wasn't trying to be negative here - he was just trying to give me a heads up so that I can address potential duplicate entries before the weekend.

I keep missing Barrel Aged Over Ale. Maybe someone will take pity on me and share a bottle in the future.

This was also at the Goose Island mini golf event. It was awesome.

  23. Per the update on facebook, it looks like they're also calling it Rusé Renard -- "Rusé Renard is a Saison with fresh concord grapes."

  24. 1 Beer with 3 names.. Who do they think they are? Rogue?

Surly certainly is not being shy with their offerings.

However, I know where I am running when I walk through the gates.

New to the Great Taste, how to lines work at say Surly? Do you wait in line, get to the front and then only get 1 sample? or can you stay there and try a couple things? Thanks in advance

Having lived across the street from the tap room in downtown St. Louis and being disappointed every year since 2006, substitute the BB Imperial Stout for the Pumpkin Ale. Schlafly has some good stuff, but their IS is not one of them.

Sarcasm? The only thing I saw the BA Big Eddy with cherries. I liked BA Big Eddy (bourbon and rye whiskey), but not sure adding cherries would improve it

I'm looking for 1 ticket at face or near face in the Madison area. I'm trying to convince a friend to fly up for the weekend, but don't want to do it if I can't guarantee he can't get in.

I've been to the fest several years, but I've never much noticed, do they have like wheelchairs or anything like that available. I broke my foot and I'm on crutches and I'm optimistic I'll be able to ditch them for the weekend but I was wondering if anybody knew what that situation is.

2x or maybe 4x tickets available at face value, although I wouldn't turn down a beer. Only catch is they're in the twin cities with me. If you want all four I"d be willing to bring them to Hudson Friday am. Let me know

It would depend... Most will have two lines at least, one for the special tap and one for the general stuff. Get your sample and if no one else is around step to the side. If there is something else that you want to sample, get back in line and repeat until you are happy. For the most part - everyone is very understand (Line Buddies are typically okay) so if you are in line waiting for someone and happen to be w. someone you know, send them for another sample while you wait.

Also - the number of people sampling will decrease as time passes...

Agree with you there. However, if the lines get ridiculous for some of those, I will go to the Revolution tent to quench my thirst.

Haven't had much of their stuff, but I was impressed that Shoreline is releasing a BA beer every hour. Also curious about some of the Nebraska special releases. My head will be spinning on where to go at 2 and 3pm.
