Anyone know what the "secret rare keg " will be at the Uptown Tavern event. I literally live 2 blocks away, but walking and or calling seems like a lot of work on this snow day.

Did anyone have "The Wild Rum King" it was on nitro at the TR. The nitro made the mouth feel a lot thinner than normal RK. I have have never had a barrel aged beer on nitro, definitely made for an interesting brew. The double barrel affect led me to only taste the Wild Turkey barrel as well..

Went there for dinner on Friday night. First time I was quite happy to hear it would be an hour wait before being seated. Drank the $hit out of Rum King, Darkness and bcbs.

Bummed I missed this. Any other BCBS sightings lately? I had it as part of a flight at Republic Calhoun and it seems really thin, almost watered down which didn't seem right to me so I'd like to give it another shot somewhere else.

Although it would suck if this was the case, but do you think that it is possible that you received an incorrect pour? "Really thin" is definitely not words I would use to describe it.

Very possible. It was written down on my ticket as BCBS, but I'm sure that is easy to overlook or repour a duplicate.

I just thought of one other thing. Most places pour this way too cold. Beers like this always feel thinner when that cold. If you got it really cold and drank it right away, that could make the difference. If you are still looking for it, it is on at Republic Calhoun Square.

    Doh!

Also in this neighborhood, Uptown Tavern has a great Founder's selection, with 2012 Curmudgeon being the highlight for me. Also 2012 Imperial Stout and Boilermaker (yikes).

Hammerheart's Olaf The Stout is on at the Hopkins Pizza Luce. First time that I have seen any Hammerheart in this area. Also, they are selling it as the BB aged version, but it obviously isn't.

And in other Hopkins news... Lindee's has made the leap of faith to put on Surly Furious!

Harriet has SOUR barrel aged versions of Dark Abbey and their saison on right now at the tap room. I haven't had the saison yet, but the Sour Dark Abbey is quite yummy. It reminds me of Rodenbach Grand Cru, but with a little more dark malt in the background.

I happened upon BCBS at Tavern 4&5 in Eden Prairie. WAY different (Better) than the pour I posted about earlier from Republic.

The when and where, I got. I am really interested in what is behind this curtain: "Will have some great collaborations from their taproom...more to come." The only collaboration that I have heard of from OB was a barleywine with Brew Dog, but I thought that was brewed over at Brew Dog and not at Oskar Blues. This is that beer: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16315/104955/

I would love to get my hands on that.
