Fair enough. But outing the guy's online handle, and posting personal information about him in real life, are two separate things entirely.

When your "interactions" are avoiding him on BA, then yeah thats fine.
But when they include getting a lynch mob ready for every beer event then its a little excessive

Simply, if it didn't work the brewery would come up with a new plan for limited releases to control the situation? I assure you most people getting this beer: 1)paid for it and 2)love craft beer! Sounds like how many bottles are distributed, in what style, and what time of day are the questions to ask?

Maybe they should have had a 2-3 bottle limit? (just an idea)

Maybe they could sell local tickets in advance at the brewery only, then more locals could get tickets?

  9. I was there as well, and it was pretty lame. Not only did the guy(s) screw locals out of a chance at the BA Abraxas, but the thugs they hired to mule were responsible for some unopeneds at the bottle share getting lifted.

Also, when someone later calmly told the guy that he thought it was kinda bs what they were doing, the muler got all uppity and in the guy's face. Not really the attitude or the practices we like to foster here in the STL beer scene.

If you weren't actually at the brewery, doesn't some guy going to a release and stockpiling a bunch of bottles to trade actually increase your odds of getting your hands on one?

Not if you put them on your do not trade with list.

Trying to find out who it is so I can add to it.

I am wondering if they are going to be "generous" or try to rape people for super wales...

Do you think that someone that goes out of his way to get all these bottles of beer are for himself Nd that he is not taking care of other people? Do you think he doesn't have plenty of people all over to get him/her beer for the favor. Go ahead and don't "interact" with him but I'm sure he will still get his. When you put the work into something you'll get rewarded

Not if you don't have anything to trade because the same person came to your area and said "ALL YOUR WALEZ ARE BELONG TO US".

That and what type of damages would be able to argue in court? He was out a $1,000 because no one would trade with him.

  26. Like I said I hardly even esquire but maybe you could file a Motion to Compel Walez,Bro

ask for injunctive relief, for haterzz to raise up off your bottle limits, pray for equitable relief from the brewery to keep needle dicks from buying things from them

WITH ENOUGH BILLABLE HOURS THE POSSIBILITIES ARE LIMITLESS

    haha this has gotten ridiculus.

The bottom line is this. Limited bottle releases are always gonna generate some controversy. What that guy did was douchey to say the least. And Perennial will probably evolve their SOP whenever they release beers like this. They are good people that are gonna look after the local scene.

Perhaps if you buy beer on e*bay. There is no way that someone does something like this to get 60 bottles and then trades them. He is either selling them online or to a bar.

Guys I have a confession to make, the guy with the 16 mules was actually muling for me, I convinced him to drive down from Chicago and pick up a bunch of mules then mail me all the beer so I wouldn't have to drive to STL myself. Coordinated the whole thing from my apartment in Knoxville.

On a fun note, how does one text random people on the street?

As I just posted on RB -- I’m getting flashbacks to the last Cuvee de Castleton release, which was a catalyst for me to (almost) cease any kind of beer release related activity. Specifically, one long-standing RB/BA member, who is a typical 30’s bearded, overweight nerd, showed up with several young african american men, pulled them aside in the parking lot prior to "go time" and coached them on the logistics of the actual buying of bottles. This person loaded many cases into his car that day, and defended himself later by saying "those guys were my old friends" when I later questioned him about it. Most people, including myself got zero bottles that day, even those who showed up at 3AM without somehow "gaming" the system. That beer ended up being very mediocre...people are awesome.

when showing up over six hours early in the middle of the night in freezing temperatures isnt enough to get a bottle then you know something is going terribly wrong.

  39. No...it's not true. Matt Rittenberg lives in Philadelphia...and wasn't even at the release. Where he got the picture he posted, I don't know. But he wasn't even at the release. He didn't get ONE bottle, much less 60+. You people will believe damn near anything you read on this forum. Way too easy to rile people up here. And no, I'm not defending his actions...just stating that this did not occur so people realize if they didn't get bottles, this is not the reason why.
