Small haul today, but happy to land the Dark Horse IPA Variety Pack.
Big ups to BA Squiggy for this haul
overnight trip to vt yielded some goodies...not much this time but will be back for more.
Package from the Bruery showed up today. The 3F Geuze Golden Blend was found at Whole Foods. As you can tell, it didn't last long.

I have friends coming from Brussels to stay here in Florida for 2 weeks. Put the word out to him the list of beers that are not found in these parts... hoping he can come through for me, but it's entirely unexpected... I know what a pain it would be to load up the luggage with a lot of beer. Next time I visit though (girlfriend was born/raised there), I will definitley be bringing a ton back!
Do you mind if I ask how much the following go for (in Euros is fine) over there? I'll put our (Tampa, Florida) prices too....
Chimay Red and White - $15.99 / 4-pack
Chimay Blue - $17.99 / 4-pack
Rochefort 10 - $6.79 / single 330
Kasteel (all) - $15.99 / 4-pack
Westvleteren XII (unavailable, except the bricks from 12/12/12) - $85 / 6-pack (included 2 glasses)
Hehe I'll be going myself to Florida (Miami) within 3 weeks Below are the prices that I paid today.
Chimay Red: 4.60 euro/4-pack
Chimay Blue: 4.61 euro for 4 pack
Rochefort 10: 2 euro/single 330
Kasteelbier: 6 euro /4pack
WestVleteren XII: 39 euro for 24 bottles
You drove 800 miles and this is all you came home with? Wow...
Thanks for the quick reply. Current exchange rate is $1.30 : 1 Euro.
So, we pay quite the premium, presumably for the shipping. Best deal (here), based on those prices appears to be for the Kasteelbier, since it's "only" double the price here. The Chimays are about triple the price, as is the Rochefort. Hard to guage the Westy, since it was a limited release, and it included 2 glasses. If we say the glasses cost $15, then the beer was $70 for 6, or ~ $12 a bottle.... about 6x what you're getting at the monastery.
Thanks again, and enjoy your trip to Miami!
What I plan to share at Dark Lord Day. Granted I bought it 10-15 minutes away from FFF but hopefully someone will appreciate it.
I had off on Good Friday and my college friends from New York were visiting my college friends in Philadelphia that weekend because they were doing a fantasy draft. I decided to drive from Pittsburgh to Philly to party and catch up with everyone. Friday morning after a staying drinking until 3 am, I woke up and drove to the New York border (while my Philly friends were at work and before my New York friends came in) to pick up the beer you see in my original post. The beer haul was a spur of the moment thing and I figured it was better than laying around hung over all day until my friends came home.
Being new to the craft beer scene, I am terribly sorry that my haul did not meet your standards. In the future, I will try to refrain from posting anything that I feel will not please you.
Doom was cheap. So I bought 2. Great logic right?
I'm almost ready for a complete BCBS tasting! Thanks to Czar_chasm for the Vanilla and some very nice extras.
A very solid package just arrived from Xtent in California. The Alpine growler is O'Brien's IPA.
Glad the store is close to work. They only got 12 bottles of the Doom.
Finally arrived in NJ. And my rep through me a couple of these Duvel snifters? Any ideas on how to remove the hideous design on them? They feel like Stone bottle printing if that helps.
any chance you could say where you scored the Doom and Parabola at? Thanks.
Great extras! That BA 4D >> BCBVS.
Can't decide if enough
looked like a nice haul to me, I would have been happy to have been able to purchase that at the store
Ayinger Celebrator doppelbock - I've had my eye out for this for a while now
Weihenstephaner's Vitus weizenbock - I'm betting this is will be excellent
Got my Doom on, 'natch
Resin x2 - spot-on DIPA
In which store did you walk in and out of?!!
Let us bow our heads in respect!
Courtesy of Threefishes.
I had asked if he would mind hooking me up with the glass. It seems a number of bottles were "accidentally" packed as well.
His generosity shall not go unpunished!!
Haha, I will find out soon enough. But I will say that BB4D is one of the best beers I've ever had, especially aged for a year. It's gonna be pretty tough to beat, although I hear great things about BCBVS.
Huge thank you to Roger85. I was having a hard time trying to hit wants for a BIF and Roger85 offered to send me something on my targets "wants" list. Today, the beer for the BIF gets delivered with these three completely unexpected beers on my wants list. Yeah, its on now.
