Anyone care to chime in?
There are at least 5 hopefuls in WV attempting to join the current 6 active breweries, but I doubt that any of them will open this year.
For Ohio, there are at least 18 claiming to be working toward opening, about 15 of these appear to be serious, and perhaps 6 could open before the end of the year.
In Colorado there 60 some breweries in the "planning stage".
May your beers be hoppy, Roger, hophead, who had an IPA in Morgantown, Davis, & Thomas yesterday
Spiteful Brewing in Chicago
The Michigan Beer Guide lists 23 for Michigan in the planning stage.
There are 1303 in the planning stage nation wide according to the Brewers Association.
There was made mention of a brewery possibly opening in Huntley, IL some time ago, but I haven't seen anything further on that. Anyone heard any more information?
The BottleHouse Brewery in Cleveland Heights, OH is very new.
Nano Brew Cleveland just opened too.
Unruly Brewing in Muskegon, MI
Here in Evansville, Indiana next month will be the much anticipated opening of Tin Man Brewing Co.
http://www.tinmanbrewing.com VERY good stuff!
Sorry, not a separate brewery IMO, it's the R&D system for Market Garden in a separate venue and the McDonald's of Cleveland beer, Sam McNulty, is using it to pad his BS claim that Ohio City is somehow becoming a destination (because of him, of course). Not to mention they've only had 2 of their own beers in the 2/3 weeks since opening! It's a bike shop/tap room as far as I'm concerned, not that there's anything wrong with that, but let's be real.
edit, meant to reply
To be honest, I haven't even been there yet. I planned on stopping there in the next month. I get what you're saying though, maybe it's not what I was picturing. I've been to The BottleHouse and it seemed pretty cool.
Also, already open:
Cool, BottleHouse is a great venue with a nice neighborhood vibe for sure, beers are coming along but aren't quite there yet.
As for Nano, decide for yourself (of course) but I think it's a gimmick. Really cool space, though!
Where is this located? There's a Rustic Road B.C. in Kenosha, WI, perhaps that's it?
that is rustic road

Karbon4... to take over Ale Asylum's old digs, keep an eye out. Should have about 5 lines ready to go 11/1/12, will be distributing bottles throughout Wisco too.
Is there a website for the new brewery?

Grand Rapids Brewing Compnay: Grand Rapids, MI-Should open in a couple months
Elk Brewing Comany: Grand Rapids, MI-They've been saying a couple months for about a year now so who knows.
There's a Co-Op brewery trying to start up too but I don't think they are super far in the process. If you're interested in reading more about it though, it's called High Five Brewery Co-Op.
I believe Mitten Brewery in GR as well.
That is a cool website.
I wonder what the deal is with this one. It is in the middle of the neighborhood.

Brewery Becker is under construction in Brighton,MI. It was supposed to open this fall but hasn't. Based on the age if the historic building it is going in I would guess they have had some construction issues.
