picked up 1 @ Lyndale Liquors @ $14.99 they also had plenty of Star of the North @ $9.99
Who is going to be the first one to mix one with a BCBS next week?
Yeah, I'm still confused from that post. Dude you're hurting my brain!
Bourbon County Brand Stout, it comes out on black friday. I will be drinking both separately, just in case you all were curious.
I was joking lol I mean, i do still have a couple bottles left......!
j/k (about mixing, not about having bottles left)
Firkins had Star of the North for $11 when it first came out.
$13.99 in North Sioux City, South Dakota. About $15 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Zipps had a lot when I was there around 4. Didn't check to see if they still had Star of the North.
Didn't have it at lunds downtown. They did have the ladies though.
Walked out with a Gillian, and some moylans hopcicle
Have you heard if this is still available? Usual spots in the DSM?
Not sure if still available or not, but do know Ankeny and Fleur HyVees got some.
I've got a Juliet and a Gillian I now have four FdNs. Cracking my first tonight or Sunday with my weekly Beer and Walking Dead tradition!
Cool thanks...I'll check with Kent and see if PHill did as well.
There is only one man who would dare give us the Raspberry. ( in best Dark Helmet voice) JACE MARTI......
In all seriousness I tried this last night and it was delicious!
You brought it up...now you need to elaborate, so we know what you're talking about.
off topic, reported
Oh, hah. Yeah, I pick a bomber from the collection each week and enjoy it while watching Walking Dead and Talking Dead. This week will be the Framboise du Nord, for sure.
Zomboise du Nord?
I had the Framboise last night and d@mn it's good! This Nobel Star Collection is the best stuff I've ever had from Schell's.
4 firkins just got this in. 15.99
I picked up a bottle last night for $10.99. Looks like it was priced with the same scan code as the original. Only a few bottles left so I might have to pick up another one tonight!
DONT TELL HER! SHE IS HOARDING!
South Lyndale just told me that the Black Friday release is a Chicago thing... they aren't going to be getting BCBS until the following week. Not sure about other places in town. BTW, they still have plenty of both Nobel Star beers.
For real? The way they advertise it I thought we'd be getting it here on Friday as well.
There goes my motivation for shopping on Black Friday!
1. I just picked up 3 bottles of this raspberry delight at 4F - looks like they just got ~6 cases.
2. They told me the same thing about BCBS release. That the "national" release on black friday is actually just in a few markets, and the bulk of it will be here the following week. That being said, another local shop told me that their distributor said they have it already and it will deliver next week. I tend to believe the 4F guys, so i guess ill be hunting tues-thurs the week after. They also said that they produced MORE volume this year, but cut their minnesota distribution by 66% so they could allocate to new markets. Jackholes over at Goose Island. Maybe thats the AB InBev influence.
what a bunk deal. wtf good is a 'national release' if every state just gets a tad...just serve your existing markets better IMO. not like it sits on the shelves anyways.
So is the FdN supposed to be around for a little while like the Berliner, or is this initial round it?
That really sucks if there's even less bcbs in MN. Last year I got the vast majority of mine in Milwaukee, since there wasn't that much of here. Heck, a lot of places up here even split out the 4pks and made you buy single bottles - motherb@tches!
From the looks, both are one release batches. I don't think it gets the credit it deserves... which is good for us, because that means it will last on the shelves longer with us having to become hoarders. Like I already am
D@mn, these one time releases is how they get ya...and they happen like every week.
First comes limited release then comes hoarding then comes credit card debt
The best part about hoarding is you forget about half the crap you have. The other day an infected bottle blew in my cellar and while cleaning up one $hitastic mess I swear I came across at least 10 beers I forgot about.
Goose Island did it to us before the AB Inbev buyout as well.
Drank a bottle of Framboise Du Nord. Holy Hannah is this a great beer. Going to grab another bottle or two if I can. Gotta grab another SotN as well.
+1 for the Scrabble coaster.
SO sexy! and ISO!!!!
Of course. The only thing that needs is moar cowbell
Or more framboise du nord
