I have plenty of experience shipping around the united states, but I was wondering if anyone could give me pointers or tips or shipping companies that I should know before I ship halfway around the world. Please let me know, anything will be helpful

Most people i know send packages from the US to Belgium with USPS or fedex , USPS is cheaper !
I've you ship from Belgium to the US you can use fedex , or Bpost , in nearly every town you have a Bpost office ,
The cheapest country to send packages from europe to the US is Germany !

I agree with Wim, BPost is a very good way to ship your beers.

The Belgium prices to ship to the States are in red:

Very helpful! I'm going to Sour&Bitter/CBC then heading to Brussels and a few other places before coming back to the states, and I've been debating between lugging all of my beer with me through Europe and bringing it home in my checked baggage, or shipping it back to myself. For 93 EUR to ship 20kg, I'm leaning towards shipping so long as I can find a store that sells shipping supplies. Thanks for the info!

If you bring a few nice beers for me to Kopenhagen (i will be at CBC both friday and saturday) i can take the bottle for you home to Holland, pack them and ship them from Germany, that will be about 25 euro cheaper for the shippingcosts. The shipping supplies will be 2 or three euro extra for the bubblewrap.

With a few nice beers i mean normal beers, just for the fun and the packing!
