Yeah! BBA Hellfighter's one of the best barrel-aged TX beers at the moment and that's a great way to compare the two.

I missed out on Perfect Crime and haven't tried Candela Rye (who else has tapped it? don't recall seeing it around anywhere else) so I'll try and stop by.

Flying Saucer FW has Candela on draft I think...if not I know we have a keg in hiding

This did get tapped pretty recently right?

FSOTLake had Candela about 2 months ago. I thought TCT tapped it too, maybe a month ago?

Whoops, had a gut feeling I'd missed out on both of these. Second chance is nice.

Goodfriend had it. Not worth the price. The cedar + rye = too much wood and spice. Not balanced enough to enjoy. Rarely can say this, but I didn't finish my glass.

Exciting that they'll have two of our state's BBA porters. Wonder if they can tap a Morgul and make it three?

  13. I am really looking forward to this.

It lacked refinement in my opinion. CCB is known for over-the-top stuff. This one didn't work with my tastes. That simple.

Either way, looks like there are plenty of decent alternative choices though. AND they added Morgul, which perfects the triumvirate of TX BA porters!
