Not terribly surprising, but Three Floyds is making another collaboration/tribute beer for a metal band. This time, Pig Destroyer. Via BeerPulse:

Thankfully not a bacon-infused pale. Foreshadowing for one of the Dark Lord Day bands this year?

The Municipal Waste beer hasn't come out yet, right? I will be bummed if I missed that one and it's sick label.

What are you guys talking about? Plenty of municipal waste has been released: Bully Guppy, Battle Priest, Busy Boyz, Formorian Princess, Region Riot, Calumet Queen, Booty Camp, Deesko!, Gorch Fock, Jinx Proof...

+1. Also Busy Boyz is a pretty damn good beer.

Like half of the beers listed are pretty solid beers.

Some people around these parts just don't like it unless it's acedic, barrel ridden, candy in a glass, or ridiculously hopped.

Not listed and not acidic, barrel ridden, candy in a glass or ridiculously hopped (definition of 'ridiculously hopped' subject to debate): 219, Alpha King, Robert the Bruce, Gumballhead, Apocalypse Cow, Aotearoa, BackMasking, Behemoth, Black Sun, Blot Out the Sun, Brian Boru, Broo Doo, Das Kleine Schwarz Einhorn, Drunk Munk, Ham on Rye, Lord Admiral Nelson, Mentol, Moloko, Munsterfest, Mushy P., Pride & Joy, Rabbid Rabbit, Rune Priest, Sand Pebbles, Stack N Stabb, Thick White Freeks, Tiger Jelly, Zes Zes Zes.

So stoked for this. Book Burner was one of my favorite albums of the year. Bonus points for the BB icons being on the label, negative points for the rest of the label looking kinda sloppy. But I'm really really excited regardless!

I was just saying this week how excited I'd be if PxDx played Dark Lord day ... alas, I can't make it this year ...

Book Burner is an excellent album. But I kinda wished they'd named the beer Terrifyer.

Sorry, but metal is moonshine and clear alcohol.
Only beer should be a high gravity chaser! Lol

I can totally see that happening. Not something I'd be all crazy hopped up for, but better than some of the past bands (though Powermad and High On Fire was kind of an old/new metalhead dream team). Now if they'd just book Amon Amarth for DLD......

I am so stoked for that Municipal Waste beer. Saw them in Toledo, OH last March, Cincy a few months later, and just drove to Nashville, TN to see them in November. I figure I'll drive up to FFF the day its released and buy a case.

I was trying to talk Jackie Os into doing a Skeletonwitch beer...but I don't think that's going to happen. :)

Doesn't HoofHearted do a SkeletonWitch inspired beer called Permafrost Porter or something?
btw, where in Toledo did Municipal Waste play? I'm sorry I missed that.

Have never heard of the Permafrost Porter...that's pretty damn cool.

Waste played a double bill with Gwar at some place called Headliners. Basically just a big warehouse with a stage. Ended up being a really fun show.

Yeah, I remember that lineup now. I think Gwar plays Headliners yearly. Their bassist is from Toledo.

He was, I think Todd doesn't play with them anymore, I'm pretty sure he's only doing Mobile Deathcamp now unless he re-joined GWAR. Good dude, GWAR's cool as hell too.

I work with his girlfriend's brother, I thought he said Todd still fills in for them on the occasional tour or whatnot.
I can see Gwar touring forever, with multiple lineups, like Kiss.

Is there anyone who can help me out in getting a few bottles of the Municipal Waste and Pig Destroyer beers? And send them to the Netherlands, Europe? I can send great Dutch and Belgian beers in return.

I wish it'd be more feasible for collabs overseas. I'd love to see a Darkthrone or Entombed beer. Transylvanian Tripel, Left Hand Porter, etc.

Were they to release an Entombed beer I'm sure it would be a very clandestine affair.

Also.... Transilvanian Thirst? Some raw, grim stout there.
