An afternoon Hopslam to start! What else is there to do with a Monday off...
Flying Fish Exit 16. This has become a go to beer for me. At 8.2 abv one has to go to it slow.
It's my Friday and I'm starting with this.
Trying to recover from last nights Bacchus parade, many a good beer was had at The Avenue Pub, using torpedo as my hair of the dog
Cheers All !!!
Drinking a Sam Boston Lager while cooking the above.
(See: Post your favorite beer-ecipe in the Beer & food for more details.)
Not sure what to think of this, It's possible that KH has ruined me.. I like the beer good enough I suppose, but there seems to be an off taste to me. This is a 2011 and my only experience with this beer. I may have to go for a fresh bottle in the future. Overall though, I'm very glad to have tried it.
A great DIPA from MD? Pinch me!
OK, tonight an anchor beer again:
I'm right there with you
Can't complain about this. Mini vacation with the wife, good weather, a hammock, a book, and a bells two hearted
Man I love that beer. It is all that is good about roasted malt and genius brewing.
My first Birra Etrusca:
I love the Ancient Ales from Dogfish Head, but this was my least favorite - too much like a dank apple-pomegranate juice drink. Maybe I need to try it again some time, but for now I'm glad I have a couple of favorites on hand for later: North Coast's Old Stock Ale and an Old Rasputin.
Until then... ciao...
It finally just started hitting my neck of NY.
A very productive day off for me. Waiting for the gf to get home so we can watch Walking Dead together. Sippin' on this in the meantime. Cheers!
Thomas Creek Chocolate Banana Split Stout
Ironically- you just got me interested in that beer with your description. I think I would love dank apple-pomegranite juice drink. Sorry it's not working for you, but at least you have others on deck.
lineup for tonight King Henry, silva stout, sleeping with shaggy, westbrook apple brandy tripel, brooklyn monster ale, flying dog horn dog, lucky 13astard ale, should be a decent start to the nite.
Hate to break it to you, but that beer is from Bell's.
These are Anchor beers.
I'm gonna go now.
A little Red Tocobaga by the pool.
Still sitting in my office, organizing my teaching stuff for tomorrow and listening to Milton Nascimento (been a lot of Brazilian stuff today, mainly Gilberto Gil and Gal Costa) but I think it'll be a bottle of Bigfoot for me tonight. That, or Racer 5. Picked up a bomber the other day with the intent of enjoying and writing proper review of it, finally.
First time trying this, the manager at the store saved me one from his case for when I came in, which just so happened to be on my birthday today! What a guy
Wow I wish I could get more of this. We need it in Jersey. One of my new favorite ipas ever
So freaking good!
That bottle looks familiar - King Henry ruined you ...
This one was unique for sure! I had to try on the merit of the name of Etruscans!
Sure does And yes... up for another trade anytime soon ?
2011 BBPt5. Currently listening to:
Still haven't seen it in Ithaca. Sounds like a winner.
Starting with another home brew from mklever42. And, another solid beer as well! Cheers, Mark!
REAL solid stout, but unfortunately the taste doesn't deliver quite as well as the aroma does. Aroma is fantastic on that one.
I'm having a Palate Wrecker for the first time. Another delicious beer from Green Flash!
Finally broke this out...glad I did.
Taking the edge off of a long Monday at work.
