This beer is getting pretty bad review on BA but I thought it tasted quite good as well. I think I gave it a 4 out of 5.

    Friday night, rerate night!

Got an infected bottle the first time. This is pleasantly enjoyable. Not very nutty, but a lot of brown bready flavor and notes of caramel, roasted malt, brown sugar, and chocolate. Good.

Nice stuff. I got an off bottle somehow. Big apples in the aromas, but the taste still stands out as a very robust and complex stout. I am giving Sam Smith the benefit of the doubt on this one being great when I get it again.

WOOWOWOW. I don't recall this ever impressing me THIS much all of the times I have had this. The aromas are simply beautiful and balanced with plenty of pumpkin and balance spice complexity. The taste matches it.

Cheers, I just bought a 6 pack of Sucks that was bottled 9 days ago; so thats coming along next. WOO

  15. Breakfast Stout. BTW - my wife and I found a place that sells Bruery 5 Golden Rings on tap and in bottles. $12 for a 750ml is a good price - especially in Manhattan.

Needless to say I was a bit shocked, yet impressed, when I picked up the six pack and it said 037 as the first three numbers(equals Feb 6 in Julian). Funny thing is that previous releases to MI have gotten shafted and were over a month later than everyone else last year. I am fucking looking forward to the CHI brewery opening though, then we will get Lagunitas stuff at 3 days old ;)

Just got back from an evening out with the girlfriend and another couple we are friends with. Started out the night at Toby Keith's restaurant in Rosemont, IL where we had dinner first. I drank a Magic Hat #9 with dinner that wasn't all that great but it beat drinking the typical BMC selections that they had on tap. Afterwards, we headed next door to an Irish pub called 5 Roses. There I had a Chimay Grande Reserve (Bleue) that was served in Chimay chalice. Needless to say, it was excellent. I followed that up with a Half Acre Over Ale, sticking to the brown ale theme of the night, which wasn't bad either. Overall, an enjoyable night even though I had to drink the Magic Hat.
