I made some Vortlimpa (a dark Swedish rye bread) today in which I used two cups of a bomber of Midnight Sun's Moscow Russian Imperial Stout. The final six ounces I drank, of course.

Even the thin stream I poured out looked totally black! I love it.

I'm in love with this beer.

2012 Expedition. Drinking much better than fresh.

  7. And then we retreated to Buffalo Wild Wings for grub and SN Pale Ales on tap; yes life is very good.
My buddy and I went and golfed in Tucson today and met Mr. Snake shading himself under a bottle tree on the side of the fairway.........[IMG]

Started things off with a Gunslinger DIPA from Crown Valley with dinner. Move on to a 2012 Matilda, and a Fat Head Oompa Loompa Chocolate Cream Stout. Now enjoying a great local, Boss Tom's Golden Bock from Boulevard. Cheers!

Cigar City Capricho Oscuro Batch 5 (blend of barleywine and two stouts, aged in cognac and brandy barrels). Pretty nice!

Spent the weekend disconnected (except for Untappd, of course), so here's a recap:

  20. I liked the fresh one better; the '09 was still great but it had lost some carbonation and the coffee had mostly faded (but the chocolate presented itself wonderfully). The '13 had tons of coffee up front with chocolate and bourbon on the back end.

  23. I tried one a week or so ago and could hardly finish it. I can tell it's a good beer, but it's a bit beyond me at the present. Looking forward to trying it again next year to see if I have improved any.
