A little piece of me dies everytime someone says the Allman brothers are a better jam band than the Dead. Dont get me wrong, I love the Allman brothers, but I barely consider then a jam band. Southern Jam Rock is a term that I use. In terms of improvisation and musical diversity that I look for in a jam band, Allmans arent even on the same planet as the Dead. This discussion is probably for another forum but I am starting to get buzzed from my Belgian Quads side by side so I figured Id go with it here.
Finishing off my Ballantine Bomber. Another weekend coming to a close. ):
I love me some Pho!
Listen to Mountain Jam. 30+ minutes and the song goes somewhere and builds to a conclusion. The Dead, in what little I've listened to live stuff, is just focused on the groove, and noodling. They just never tripped my trigger. I always thought they were one of those bands that were better on record than live. Time constraints of recording made them focus on the songs, not just wander around for a few minutes.
2012. I have struck out on scoring any 2013 so far. Cheers!
been pregaming for mad men by drinking ipas and flipping back n forth from bulls n hawks games. happy Sunday!
