Starting with some lunch and Orval. Cheers BA!
KBS, because the B stands for breakfast. Cheers
Home from work and decided to finally crack this open. I received an invite to the Quarterly Blackjack Invitational at Black Bear Casino, because I won the weekly tournament twice. I believe I am still the only person to do so. For those tournaments first place is $2100, but this one is $10000. Also the food is amazing, and you can't go wrong with free drinks for a few hours. I was going to try to take a nap, but I'm too excited. Time to run through some more numbers while I enjoy this.
This is an amazing beer.
Same Beer Sunday Morning?
Drinking Victory Hop Ranch
Listening to Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow
Breakfast of oatmeal (stout), bagel with avocado, and fruit.
More basketball today. How's your bracket?
Just woke up after ebf session c enjoying a cave creek chili beer for breakfast, it's really not that bad... Oh wait second sip is really bad and it's getting worse.
Avery x Russian River.
Collaboration Not Litigation. Batch #7.
Love the sentiment. And the beer ain't terrible, neither.
Obligatory on monday. Got me on a kick. Been on it ever since...
A good beer for fans of iron, red clay, cellar mold, odd citrus, and harsh bitterness.
Ale aged in oak barrels
Wine-like and woodsy barrel notes in this sour saison-eqsue wild ale featuring brett and fungal funk, bread and biscuit grains, and tart orchard and vine fruits. My favorite "American Wild Ale" to-date.
Not a bad way to start the day: strong, at 9.6% abv...
Propaganda, off Sepultura's Chaos A.D. album
Dude! Did you notice that your KBS glass is smiling? I would be to if I was full of that beer...
I can never decide which looks better - your meals or your beer!
Great Divide Hoss -seems much better than when I first tried it in 2010.
Both were great for sure!
Sunday morning.....too bad is only once a week!
Wow. Good luck. I wish you continued success. "Hey BA's, maDUECEgunner is gonna buy everyone a beer with his poker winnings!!!"
My favorite beer find of 2014.
Enjoyed immensely an Earl coffee stout from Hill Farmstead.
Huge thanks to @larryi86 for this one. Cheers!
Dirtwolf,Sculpin,and Hop Stoopid
Can't go wrong like that =)
Nothing beats having a Yeti around to help tidy the house on a lazy Sunday.
Ok y'all! It's Sunday and I love sunday. Cheers BA and last night I had the Syracuse game to watch so I mad eone of my favorite game day snacks. Stuffed mini peppers. It's too easy. Brown rice, hot italian sausage, onion and parmesan. Went great with my sweet and spicy wings and rounded out a pub style meal because they contain rice and I served these with a salad too. This all went famously with Dogfish Head Aprihop. The beer was delightful with these dishes. I did not review the beer until today because it's new beer sunday. WooHoo!
Just finished a NB Ranger, about to pop a Abrasive! Going on a diet starting tomorrow, one last day of fun for this guy.
My first time trying the Enjoy By series!
A very well done DIPA. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly up there.
Relaxing with some more awesome bluegrass:
Cheers BA's, enjoy your Sundays!
A little hair of the dog...
first time with this. it's rather tasty, too. Dan is the man...
loving the heck out of a fave live show...
With 'Cuse being knocked out, my bracket lies in shambles. I thought I could use some consolation (February batch, still good-ish.)
Starting off with a Goose Island Halia. Delicious!
Finished the marvelous Merveilleux...
...and went out for more beer (lol ); found these fun-lovin' guys on the shelf...
I loooove Arctic Devil - Sucaba and BCBBW get a lotta the attention, but as @ao125 once said,
"Arctic Devil is like crack."
But then, whaaat? - didn't even crack () one open - went for my last bottle of Hopslam instead...
*pour pics follow*
Once I get to know how a beer's gonna pour
I'll center-pour it if I can
Lookit that nice, perfect fill
Hopslam is apparently infused with ghost smoke magic!
Great head is always a plus!
Sabbath in my head, pizza on the way - gonna be a winner today!
Having a Imperial Stout off today, winner in every category is Founders, Smutty, Ten Fidy, and a distant last even though it is excellent Clown Shoes Undead.
Crushing it this beautiful Sunday morning. Enjoy the day doing what you do BA's.
I went fishing this morning for a couple hours and froze my ass off. Got home and figured I may as well pop a brew.... Note Pat's Perch for added affect
How else would I celebrate a WI win and a trip to the Sweet 16! With a CW 16 anniversary beer, of course!
Sunday Morning Breakfast!
You may want to hit play now - this may take a while...
*WARNING* - the following is a recap of last night's EPIC bottle share at @MRC711 's place.
You may want to shield any younger BA's eyes....
And so it began...
Growler is BA Silhouette
Then the big guns came out to play
After some kick ass ribs, Mark pulled out this 20yr Port wine for dessert
And just for good measure Mark pulls out this from the depths of his cellar...
Everything went off without a hitch until we got to the Apple Brandy Hunah.
That's when my trusty bottle opener decided to throw in the towel from all of the abuse...
Good thing Mark had a replacement handy
*Forgot to take a photo of a 2009 Fuller's Vintage Ale and the 750 of XV - V225 Saison
In attendence: Myself, @Mplsmetro57 @GopherPharmer @striker2160 @MRC711 and @moneynoobject .
Late arrivals: Alicia (thanks for bringing the Prop!) and Vince
Thanks for hosting Mark!
And thanks to Lori for letting us go later than we had planned.
Everyone was surprised how well BA Silhouette held up with the big guns, and was in all of our top 3.
My top 5 (actually 8)
1 Tie: Double Barrel Hunah (thanks for the trade @markgugs) & Exponential Hoppiness
2. BA Silhouette - Trade for this - you will not be disappointed (NO you can't have my last one!)
4. Tie: Assassin & BCBCS
5. Tie: Brandy Hunahpu & Proprietor's BCBS
It's crazy to think that Everett, Better Half and Blue Mountain Speedway are on the bottom of any list at a bottle share.
Also, we've all had Prop multiple times, or it may have finished higher (maybe)
Sorry for the long post, but my com-padres insisted!
Hope I didn't break anything...lol
And oh yeah....drinking some strong coffee at the moment.
Drinking Jack's Abby Coffee Framinghammer and watching Bobby Brady catch football passes from Joe Namath.
