I might just drink some Cantillon straight out of the bottle tomorrow. There'll be no fancy glassware.

This was supposed to be my Christmas beer, but the way I look at it... if I open it now, I'll still be enjoying this bottle after midnight. Am I doing it rite?

  5. Merry Christmas BA! Had a FBS, Dogfish Burton Baton, SN Narwhal, and Shiner Holiday Cheer at my work party today. Shared a Duvel with the parents with dinner, Thirsty Dog 12 Dogs of Christmas with pie, and a Shorts Liberator while watching Christmas Story.

Got the HBO miniseries The Pacific on DVD for Christmas, watching part one while sipping on this

Earlier today. Lemon Berry Shandy for the girlfriend and Barrel Aged Rye Knot. Not the same as Bourbon Rye Knot that is listed under their page. Difference being that i think this was aged for a year in barrels and is closer to 10 %....it was amazing. I cant wait til next year to grab a bottle!

Cheers ladies and gentlemen! I hope everyone had a great Christmas Eve.

...oh and im officially rocking a new cardi that i got today. life is good

FBS that was bottled on 11/11/11. I was curious how this stuff aged. It's definitely interesting and an experiment worth trying, but after trying it, I think I like it best fresh.

  15. Just finished nearly 4 hours of building a train table/set, timed by scenes from A Christmas Story... accompanied by a Cantillon Kriek, Hill Farmstead Birth of Tragedy, and Founders KBS (drinking now). All coincidentally 2011 versions. Now about to finish wrapping with the Always Sunny Christmas episode.

    Merry Christmas all!

Went to the wifes folks place tonight. Generally speaking they will have a "craft" selection for me. Some modelo, pacifico, dos equis. You know, the good stuff. It has been this way for at least 10 years. Tonight, however, I was greeted with two bottles of KBS. Shock and Awe baby, shock and awe.

Pursuit of Hoppiness. Nice amount of sweetness coming through on this one. Although I'm wondering what this brew is like super-fresh (this one was bottled on 10/23/12), it's still fantastic and probably the best red/amber I've had.

  24. Just got done being Santa for the first time... Did not worry last year as our son was 10 months, but now that he is almost 2 I decided to give it a go. Had a NB Snow Day while putting stuff under the tree. Now that the wife has gone to bed I decided to relax with a Central Waters Satin Solstice Imperial Stout and of course let the Led out.

  28. Sipping on a 2010 bottle of Snake River's Le Serpent, a very tasty sour. Those guys at Snake River make some very good beers, love Pako's and Zonker too.

  29. Alley Kat Darn Tartan Scottish Ale
Russian River Temptation (Batch 006) - Pours the most wonderfully clear, bright golden amber. Bags of sourness and funk on the nose, and as it warms, the Chardonnay really shines through.
Russian River Consecration (Batch 007) - Just a great sour brown ale with a real, true Cab Sauv flavour coming through. Marvellous!
Samichlaus 2006 - Still tastes a little young; too malty.
Harviestoun Ola Dubh 12, bottled July 2009 - Good integration from the whisky barrel. Like having a chocolate liquor.
