Neither, just saying it's strange that Kuhnhenn will distribute to NYC but not Indiana or even Chicago

  7. I shared a Bourbon County Cherry Rye last week with a friend. If you were with us you wouldn't have heard one word of analysis, but a whole bunch of barely audible, totally awed utterances of the word 'fuuuuuuck'. And I'll never forget the experience- sometimes one word just sums it up (although I don't think it would make a suitable BA review).

  10. Just had my first last week and yes, it lived up to my expectations!

For tonight. Celebrating the start of the Weekend. This is only the second ever BCBS I've had, first was an '09 at a tasting months ago. I am normally turned away from bourbon heavy beers, but this is just on a whole other level. It's got such a great depth of flavors and an underlying sweetness to balance everything out.

I know it is cliche, but this is an amazing beer.

    Cheers guys/gals!

  15. Starting with a red wine-barrel aged Baltic porter (too many of these things clogging up the shelves these days ;))
Starts out kind of rough, but then a few ounces into it it all smooths out and comes together- I'm starting to get into it now. That bodes well for the remainder of the bottle.

    Listening to an old friend:

  16. I feel that is a valid review and would be able to immediately relate to the reviewer.;) I've had a couple of those 'moments'

  17. Just bought a Double Jack this afternoon. Put it in the cellar. How was it?

Went to one of my favorite places in New England, The Portsmouth Brewery, with the kids while my wife went to The Friendly Toast up the street to meet some friends. Had a Winter Rye (I enjoyed this very much. Not a huge rye beer fan, but there was a nice spice kick from the rye and a solid malt backbone. Very drinkable for the ABV as well. I think it was around 7%) and an English Mild (This was just OK. Preferred the Winter Rye). Got back home after walking around Portsmouth a little and stopping by Kittery. Had a Flower Power with dinner. Love this beer very much so. So glad I found a six pack!
