  1. You honestly must've drank a different batch of Bolt Cutter than I. For the Devil Dancer I've had, be it fresh or 1 year+ old has had nothing on the smooth, tasty drinkability of the undisputedly higher abv BC. It's cool to get on the Bash Express though. Tons of peeps!

All the hate for Bolt Cutter really made me wonder and consider drainpouring the bottle I had not the chance to try, until I actually consumed with my tasting group...Try finding a green barleywine at 15% that hides the abv as well. Or just perpetuate the hate.

  4. Geez, that's all I've heard about this beer, very bitter.

  5. Ballast point sculpin, evil twin imperial biscotti break, and Maine brewing co. Zoe. Good times in NYC.

  11. Did a tasting of American Imperial Stouts tonight. It was an amazing night.

*NOTE* *Yes I know they're not in a proper glass. No snifters available in the house*

Starting off with my first Batch 19. Good beer, starting off nice and strong for the style (verging on vienna lager territory), but as it warmed that sweet corn flavor came through (which I'm not a fan of). I guess it's a perfect example of an aal and then some, but come on Coors, do you really need to charge $9 for a sixer? $7 sounds just right.

Nogne O/Jolly Pumpkin/Stone Special Holiday Ale. Very dark belgian-esque. Reminds me of a quad but without the booziness. When it comes to winter warmers, this wouldn't be a brew that I would call the benchmark. It's better (to me). It's the best winter warmer I've had (must be because I like quads a lot lol).

Griffin's Bow, an American Barleywine from Boston Beer Company. I like most of the Sam Adams brands of beer, but this is one I will not be having again.

  18. After the malty Jewbelation Sweet 16, I decided some aggressive hoppiness would be welcome. Two HTs later and some Vermont sharp cheddar (Cabot clothbound) have righted this ship...

    and a Fruet!

It was a good day... not for my wallet tho. Each of those three beers cost 29.99

  23. Knee Deep Citra Extra Pale Ale

God damn, Citra hops are amazing.

  24. Had to re-visit the 2012 to compare the two. I prefer the "2013" much more. It has more body, and it's much more balanced than the '12, which just seems thin to me now. Still very good, however.

Capital Eisphyre. Tastes just like the label says; basically a bigger version of their Autumnal Fire. As if the Autumnal Fire was dangerously drinkable enough, Capital decided to up the danger (abv) without dropping the drinkability.

4 packs?!?!,! No way! Same price??

  36. They raised the price of six packs last year, and the four-packs are now priced the same as Hoptimum and Narwhal, as they are all now all part of the same series. $9.99 in my area.

$10 for a 4 pack of it... I will for sure buy tons again and maybe actually save a few to age this time

  38. That's the problem I have with Bigfoot. Never have the patience to age it more than a year.
