Really great. Malt sweetness up front followed by vinegar sourness. Love me some Flemish ale.

What was your take on the Rye on Rye? I sampled it again over Christmas, felt that it had lost something since summer. My wife felt the same way. What was your perspective?

My Dad surprised me today at New Year's Day dinner with this purchase, which is a huge step up for him. Not bad a beer either, not great but not bad. Happy New Year everyone.

Enjoyable enough but one of those beers where I just don't "get" where all the love for it comes from.

My first of 2013, as I didn't stay up late last night. Also my last free day before returning to work.

First I've had this brew, and I'm seriously impressed. This is a damned good one.

Is it bad to open with one bottle opener, and take a picture of another?

    Moving onto this:

It's interesting to say the least. Really big on the oak and caramel while the citrus from the hops come through in the after taste. It was bottled in June so I wonder what the extra few months did to the hops. Would be interested to try this fresh.

    and a lovely cheese plate

I remember enjoying Fantôme de Noelmore the last couple years. I suspect the new labels that Fantôme is using is affecting the quality of the beer <a facetious remark>.
