The hockey's on. AFAIC once the sports start, it's not too early to drink. Yes, that means some weekends I start between 7:30 and 10:00 because I'm watching the Premier League.
Right now we're finishing off the growler of Empire Brewing Local Grind that I bought yesterday (and watching Sabres-Caps).
Just popped another Lagunitas Sucks. It's so damn tasty!
Drinking my first sucks...
Shit is it good! Some may even say, oh hot damn, this is my jam...but not me, that's just lame. GREAT beer though! Cheers all!!
Today is my wife's birthday, and I'm toasting her with this:
Agreed. Phenomenal nose on the Sucks.
Doing a little side by side today.
Aroma: Sucks (awesome citrus onslaugh) > Hopslam
Taste: Hopslam (love the crystal malts that weigh heavily against the hop) > Sucks (great hop bitterness, but I prefer more malt syrupiness)
Who wins? I do.
DFH 75min IPA. Interesting...
How is it? An awesomely sweet malt bomb?
My day started with this.
Then I made my own version of Bramble by adding some blackberry brandy which was actually quite good!
Followed by a Stone RIS
The alcohol has definitely subsided...drinking pretty good right now...
the snow is falling in Minneapolis after a coating of sleet not going anywhere 2day time for these
I'm having a Bell's Midwestern Pale Ale right now
Cleaning house and sipping on
nothing too exotic, just an old standby while the weather worsens
Alchemist Luscious. Still tasting delicious.
My first Sucks and it totally lives up to the hype!
That is one badass pint glass!
Drinking my homebrew....Stone 10anv Ruination clone..wished this was part of thier regular lineup..
what the hell, i have nothing better to do....
Bomber to the dome!
Ran a half marathon this morning, motivated by the Sucaba waiting for me. So good baby.
Damn good stuff. Thanks for the can, Shaun!
That is a surprisingly good beer, I think. I was pleasantly surprised by that and Liv and Let Rye.
Sidenote, do you know if Empire will fill 32oz growlers? Because I basically never find myself in a position to get a full growler of . . . anything, really.
I have no idea. Yesterday was actually the first time I'd been in for years. I'm slowly getting back out to places since the move back. I don't see why not if you have the glass, but I haven't asked. Luckily for me, I can split them with my wife even if no one else is around to help.
I want to try that Live and Let Rye. I saw that on the tap list and was intrigued, but I was quite literally on a mission ordered by my wife to bring back a growler of Local Grind and I didn't have time to hang out and try it.
The wife is like "REALLY?"..... It's my day off dang it!
Sipping another WnB while trying to finish up some homework.
For all our enjoyment:
Red hook - long hammer
Bourbon County Brand Stout in my Chimay goblet and Cabot Seriously Sharp cheddar. Awesome.
Finally figured out that Avery does have a date code.
This is from Aug 2011 - surprisingly not as bad as you would think but, well....you know
Just got the glass yesterday, and I'm still amused on how I can make the guy's glass look like a beer with a head on it!
Too bad unibroue needs to use the twist offs as all Canadian breweries do. I find they loose more carbonation over the long run but also have almost taken an eye out prying a cap off with a lighter. Cork and cage bottles are just better IMO. Need to toss this one and De Dolle in the lineup to get BOU status on that Westmalle.
Drinking this to start.
Can't believe this is my first from MBC. Really tasty!
Now this. Didn't really drink in 2 minutes the Malheur. Had an hour ago. This one is so good!! I really need to brew an Amber!!
I just finished my last Celebration Ale. Of course, it tasted better than every other one I had for the season
