It's not summer, but here in California it seems like it is right around the corner, especially with some early (super early) summer releases hitting the shelves. So the question is, what are looking for to drinking this summer?

I think I'm going to try to get ahold of more Anchor Liberty/ California Lager and Sucks in the 32 ozers. :)
  2. Berliner weisse.

  3. I drink whatever summer seasonals are available that I can find. Sierra Nevada Summerfest and Goose Island Summertime are easily available here. Some other local area stuff like Harpoon Summer and Naragansett Summer Ale as well.

  10. Kolsch. I think its overlooked more than it should be, and there aren't a whole lot of options for it in my area other than Captain Lawrence, Gaffel or sometimes Sam Adams East-West, but a local brewer, Rohrbach's, makes a very nice one.

Summertime= Saisons. And the best part about it is that you don't have to compromise abv or flavor, but you still have a golden, refreshing summertime ale. And to top it off we have a new company dedicated to Saisons- Stillwater! I don't know how young the company actually is, but they just started showin up in stores about 6 months ago here. I also like me some Pranqster in the summer. Here's to hoping my last full summer in the south before I move to Michigan isn't so damn hot.

For my 50th birthday on June 28th I'm hiking a section of the Long Trail that is conveniently close to Lawson's, The Alchemy, and Hill Farmstead. While driving there I plan to hit up Columbus Brewing, Brew Kettle, more TBD places (suggestions welcomed) and of course loading up on Flower Power. My hiking partner lives in VA so hopefully he's bringing me some DC Brau beers and I'm bringing him some Zombie Dust.

Should be an awesome beer drinking summer.

    Kolsch.

    Hell yes.

The Gordon Biersch Kolsch is actually good as far as American attempts at the style and it is bottled too. Curve Ball, Alaskan Summer, among others on my list.

    Dales, Caldera, rum runners.

A lot of canned beer I can bring to the beach and music festivals that don't allow glass.
  31. I'm with you on the Koelsch. My buddy and I recently hit the precise recipe/process for our Koelsch we have been aiming for, and, man, is it tasting good (even in the SC winter...and, yea, my buddy nerded out majorly on the Bierdeckel)

Two years ago was the summer of saisons. Last year was pretty hop heavy with several trips to VT. This year will probably be a lot of both since HF is only a little over an hour from my house.
  35. Back in Chicago:

    Metropolitan Kolsch
    Allagash White
Always got a case of New Glarus Dancing Man Wheat on my annual trip to Door County, WI
Julius Echter Hefeweizens at the local bars in Lincoln Square
    Goose Island Summertime at festivals

    Here in TX:

Life Oak Hefeweizen (man is it good)
Victory Prima Pils (also available in Chicago but recently acquired a craving)
Southern Star Bombshell Blonde, as mentioned above
Whatever I continue to discover as I spend a full summer in this hot, hot place

Edit: Add Boulevard Tank 7 and Green Flash Rayon Vert
  36. Whatever I can tick. And weihenstephaner hefe. Always weihenstephaner
  37. Hoptimumm, Oberon!!!
  38. Copious amounts Bell's Oberon + DFH Festina Peche mainly with some Hefeweizens (Franziskaner & SN Kellwerweis) and IPAs mixed in... Most summer seasonals don't do too much for me...
