HF Double Galaxy
Lawsons Double Sunshine
Prairie Gold is fantastic and new to me if not new this year. Also, I finally had a BORIS last night and loved it. Those come to mind as standouts I have had this year.
Really Enjoy the Dayman and this years version of Huna is great as well.
Galaxy Unicorn by Pipeworks. Or Apple Brandy BCS at stoutfest
Live Oak HefeWeizen. I'm a wheat guy, it's awesome.
Naughty Temple or CW BBBW for me.
Enjoy by 4.1.13.
Jack's Abby BA Framinghammer for local, Firestone Walker Sucaba for non-local
Stone's Dayman. Also looking forward to Enjoy By 5.17.13 since I didn't get to try 4.20.13.
Fresh Hop Stoopid. Last year too!
Mocha Black Tuesday by a pretty wide margin.
New this year is easily Great Lakes Alchemy Hour, what a great beer.
Founders Imperial Stout as far as new to me beer and Alchemy Hour as new this year beer.
Hill Farmstead Susan, it even looks like OJ in a glass. Runner up goes to Allagash FV 13, very tasty.
I'm going to have to go with Alchemy Hour as well
BP Victory at Sea - new to me!
I keep seeing this around but have yet to get it. Maybe I'll grab it sometime.
As for me:
Alchemy Hour - This stuff ranks right up there with Hopslam as one of the best DIPAs coming out if the Midwest.
KBS - This year's batch is a lot better than previous years, IMO. I just did a three year vertical and the '13 won out. Easily the most balanced batch yet.
BCBS Cherry Rye - Another stellar variation by Goose Island.
Black Note - My first time having it this year. Mind blown.
I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting, but those are the stand outs right now. And of course, I have other stuff in the cellar I haven't touched yet that will probably rank up here as well.
CW Fifteen. Outstanding!
Sucks and I Wish there were 2 cases to buy. Congrats & Cheers
Jack's Abby Smoke and Dagger.
I doubt this beer was released for the first time in 2013, but it was new to me this year and I absolutely love it.
Sucks and barrel aged Gonzo
I've had more beer (variety) this year than all other years combined... So this will be tough.
Heady Topper (Thanks willbm3!)
Pliny (big ole thanks to jkbootlegger for these RR)
RR Blind Pig
Nugget Nectar (another big thanks to will!)
Unibroue La Terrible
New Glarus Winter Warmer (surprised the hell out of me)
BCBS CS and CR (technically 2012 but I drank them this year)
But I think in the end, the all around winner was fresh KBS for me. Never in my life have I had such a potent BBA beer that was this easy to drink. I don't know what magic they're using. I had a 2012 vintage this week as well, and the fresh KBS is just so much better! Now I have a good excuse to polish off the 4 2013s I have left.
Looking forward to Doom, Parabola, and opening up the Huna I got from Chardlogic.
Kind of really digging the Lagunitas Sucks
Bell's Smitten. So incredibly well made.
BCBCS and Sucks for new to me
Tart Side of the Moon and Right Brain Naughty Girl Stout for new for 2013 (at least in bottles)
Tired Hands Mago Tago. All of their beers are great, but this one tops the heap.
That sounds great.
Cigar City Cubano Espresso...if only I could find more of it (without driving 4 hours to the brewery in Tampa)!
Bells is SO good! Ever have their Hopslam? Mmmmmmmmmm.
So far in 2013...my favorite beer - Hop Stoopid by Lagunitas. 2nd best...Arrogant Bastard Ale.
Crooked Tree IPA. Love the multiple hoppy citrus favors and the price.
Miami Madness from J Wakefield. Unbelievably good stuff. Maybe I'll get to try more next Saturday.
Beachwood's Citraholic IPA. World class IPA from an amazing line up of IPA/DIPA's that define the term world class.
Troegs Nugget Nectar. Never had it, and wow is it an awesome brew!
Best beer first introduced this year? Victory's session saison, Swing.
Best beer I've had since the beginning of the year? Fat Head's Head Hunter IPA.
Hopped up Johnnie and BA Abraxas, with Double Sunshine behind. Mmmmmmm
The next one
