I think it is better than all the lighter versions of all those beers. But in comparision to the hopslam I am currently drinking it is Godawful. Playa de la Cruz is the worst beer I have ever tried.

  2. A bomber of racer x double IPA. Only $6 at wegmans

  3. I could get a bomber of hop stoopid for less than that

i think people are missing the point of this thread; it's what cheap beers do you buy to get buzzed off, not "what craft beer do you ordinarily like to get buzzed off?" lol :p

convict hill oatmeal stout by independence. at 9% and 6.50 a 4 pack here, it makes for a great night. couple that with southern star pine belt pale ale also at 6.50? add the cost of smokes in, im lookin at 20 bucks, some netflix and a hell of a time.

A cheap buzz for me is an intense 60 minutes cardio workout followed by basically anything I drink.

  10. Keystone Light mixed with a capful of nail polish remover. Preferably Revlon.

Big Flats is the cheapest beer available and not anywhere near the worst beer I've ever tried. It's surprisingly inoffensive. I'll even take it over most other macros.

That being said my cheap beer of choice has got to be Old Milwaukee.

  13. I go Tuckerman's Pale Ale for something decent or the High Life if I'm trying to impress!

  14. Long Trail Double Bag

EDIT: Just to be clear, this beer isn't "cheap." It's very well made, but is typically less expensive than other sixers around and it is strong abv wise.

Here in NH, my "go to" brew is Smuttynose IPA. The local markets carry 12 pks for $12.99 and sometimes put them on sale for $11.99. You can not beat that. Harpoon and Sam are also offered at the same price but the finestkind is better and will throw you for a loop faster if that's what you're looking to accomplish!!

Simpler Times from Trader Joes is $3.49 a 6 pack. Not bad tasting an you can grab a good drunk for $7!

  20. Three shots of Jack. Chase it with something you like. Boom. You're buzzed and you're drinking something solid.

I tend to go for whiskey in those situations. I often chase it with a lager of some sort over 5% abv. Spaten Optimator is a favorite.

You guys are doing it wrong. Don't drink cheap shit beer when you want to just get buzzed: that's what the bourbon is for.

Might I suggest Buffalo Trade Single-barrel ($17-$20 round here).

I can usually get Dancing Man Wheat for $6.99. at 7.2 it does the trick and that's damn cheap for a world class beer. As for "really cheap quick buzz", $3 for 4 pints of Steel Reserve, but only in desperate times.

If I'm needing a quick buzz, I tend to avoid beer altogether. That what vodka is for
