    • Can you enlighten us with your tips on which location to pick in NY between Spuytin and Alewife?
    • When to go (Doors open at 11 at Alewife, 12 at Spuytin)?
    • What to expect?
    • Tips for having the best time / trying the most cantillon beers
    Cheers!

Lot of good points if you parse through the posts in the generic Zwanze Day thread in this sub-forum

    As to some anecdotal pointers.

Spuyten has a "better" Cantillon tap list and will most likely have "better" bottles than Alewife. Alewife has Classic, Rose and CSG on tap, and Spuyten has CDC, Classic and '08 LPK, as well as Tilquin on draught. It also has basically all the Cantillon bottles for sale.

Spuyten will be busy at 12. A lot of people go and buy a Zwanze ticket, leave, and then come back at 3 for the tapping. It's sort of narrow space with limited seating, so it may be tight. It will certainly be ass-to-front at 3.

Alewife is a bit of a question mark this year. They sold tickets last year prior to the even for glass/pour tickets/pour of Zwanze. This year they're doing 80 tickets first come first serve when they open. Don't know how many neckbeards will be on line at 7am to get a ticket, but it could be a little bit more of a hype-issue than last year. It was crowded all day last year, but it was never packed.

Alewife will have a good tap list, some bottles for sale, a great laid back atmosphere and delicious food to eat while you sit outside and drink beer. Spuyten will have a bunch of dudes in flannel drinking awesome beer and buying overpriced bottles of St.Lam and Fou. (YMMV).

Tips to have a good time. Go somewhere, drink some beers you've never had, talk to the stranger sitting next you and realize how cool Zwanze Day is.
