Midwest Brewers Fest

Midwest Brewer’s Fest– August 27th will be a date that sets a tradition for years to come. This event and venue touches closely to a town of 40,000 people, 4,200 businesses and thousands of passionate craft beer and artisanal food connoisseurs. The sole purpose of this event is to provide benefit to one of the most preserved areas of this historic location; The Riverfront of Plainfield is a landmark that was once home and entertainment grounds to the fur traders and Indians back in the late 1800’s. In 1904 the trolley companies created Electric Park on the grounds of this venue to be a place where people from all over would come to enjoy live entertainment to camping along the river.

In 1990 when a devastating tornado claimed this towns people, homes, and businesses. It also took a part of our historic landmark. It was a disaster that changed the face of this town. In 2007, a plan was made to revitalize this venue and create a mission known as Project: Riverfront. The idea behind it was simple from maintaining the natural characteristics of the land, create an attraction that would provide entertainment for people across the areas, build back the identity that was unique to the local community, and create a memory that would last for another 100 years.

To bring these ideas together The Plainfield Riverfront Foundation was formed in late 2009, to spearhead this initiative with fundraising and implementation. Today we honor this tradition of past times to revisit the simple things in life in a town that preserved its culture and memories forever.

We are proud to announce The Plainfield Riverfront as the venue for the Inaugural Midwest Brewers Fest. The Midwest Brewers Fest is produced by friends of this community for the betterment of Project: Riverfront. The meaning of being able to host the inaugural fest is to provide an opportunity for Project: Riverfront in partnership with our local businesses and people of the Midwest. The idea of bringing over 3500 people to this community for a two-day event where passionate trade makers and connoisseur gather together for the purpose of the CRAFT. This is what Midwest living is all about, simple people, simple times, and artisanal tastes.
