The Livery Tap Feature

Going: 0 | Watching: 0 | Invited: 0
On Friday, February 21, the night before the Michigan Brewers’ Guild Winter Beer Festival, HopCat GR will feature eight taps and a firkin from The Livery out of Benton Harbor, MI. On draft will be:

McGilligan’s IPA – American IPA – 6.0%
Brewed with North American malts and dry hopped with loads of Cascade hops, giving this well-balanced IPA a crisp bitterness.

Steep Canyon – Bohemian Pilsner – 6.5%
A refreshing pilsner with bitter, grassy hops, backed by a light, slightly sweet malt body.

5th Dimension – Belgian-Style IPA – 9.0%
A unique IPA made with Belgian malt and a blend of Czech, English, German, and American hops, giving it a fruity bouquet of hops with a subtle hop bite in the finish.

Barrel Aged 5th Dimension – Barrel Aged IPA – 9.0%
Aging for months in oak barrels gives this ale a sour quality that blends amazingly with the fruity hop notes.

Lost Jacket – Lactose Imperial IPA – 10.0%
Funny story behind this beer… We haven’t heard it, but it has something to do with a jacket. Cool story, right?

Liverator – Doppelbock – 9.2%
Surprisingly light bodied for the amount of flavor packed into this beer. Not too sweet, but dangerously smooth and loaded with flavor.

2013 Funkalicious – Barrel Aged Wild Fruit Ale – 9.5%
It’s a Belgian style, but aged in oak with raspberries added, it just seems to have that Michigan feel to it. Oh, and it’s delightfully sour too.

5th Anniversary – Imperial Brown Ale – 10.5%
Made back in 2009 by The Livery’s former brewer, Steve Berthel, this beer has had plenty of time to mellow out. But how mellow is any five-year-old you’ve come in contact with? Let alone one with this much alcohol in it.

Firkin: Dixie O’Flynn – Irish Dry Stout with Bourbon Soaked Oak Chips – 6.0%
Incredibly smooth and tasty with bitter dark chocolate with burnt, roasted coffee flavors, complimented by warm notes of vanilla and oak.

All of the drafts are on when we open; the Dixie O’Flynn cask will be tapped at 5pm. Don’t miss out!
