This fall, beer enthusiasts will get their “craft on” at The Hotel at Auburn University’s Fifth-Annual Oktoberfest featuring German delicacies, live music, a home brewing competition and of course, beer. Below are some event highlights:

Homebrew Alley – Calling all craft-beer brewers! This year, amateur brewers can show off their crafts in the first-ever home-brewing competition, “Homebrew Alley.” A select number of participants can showcase their beers and festival guests will vote on their favorites. The winning selection will be featured on draft at Ariccia Trattoria & Bar during the fall. The winner and the head brewer of Blue Pants Brewery will brew their recipe as a one-off beer in the Blue Pants’ Facility.
Brews – Oktoberfest attendees can choose from more than 100 beers from all over the nation, Southeast and even local brewers from the surrounding area. During the event, beer-lovers can sample any of these amazing brews. Select breweries will also present one-off beers brewed specifically for the Oktoberfest event.

Packages – The Hotel at Auburn University is offering two packages perfect for any beer-lover. The “Eat, Drink, & Be German” package will be available for $60 and includes one general admission ticket, food tokens, and an event t-shirt. For the weekend warrior, The Hotel at Auburn University will offer the “Hotel” package that includes the “Eat, Drink, & Be German” package for two guests, overnight accommodations, and breakfast for two for $225. This year, the event will even offer a new “Designated Driver” package where attendees will receive free entry into Oktoberfest and two non-alcoholic drink tokens. Presale tickets will be available for $35 and tickets at the door will be $45. Food items will be sold separately for $5 at the event. http://auoktoberfest2014.bpt.me/
