Crafted at The Boiler Room in Fargo, North Dakota

As we face another cold winter at The Boiler Room, a bar and restaurant in Fargo, N.D., we channeled a tropical vacation in this beer cocktail. Cointreau, an orange liqueur, plus orange and lemon juice give a citrusy, tropical flavor, while spiced rum adds a warming kick. Topped off with Iron Horse, an American Pale Ale from Fargo Brewing Company, this cocktail is the perfect way to forget about the temperature until spring.

6 oz Fargo Brewing Company Iron Horse (or another American Pale Ale, like Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale or Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale)
1 oz spiced rum
1 oz Cointreau orange liqueur
1/2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz orange juice
orange or lemon peel for garnish

Shake all ingredients except beer over ice, and strain into a tulip glass. Top with 6 ounces of the APA. Garnish with a lemon peel or orange twist, and enjoy!
