better than its ratings, but insanely light. i have not had much clean beer from these guys at all, so this was unexpected, almost like a craft brewed coors light or something, not particularly compelling for any reason, but its cold and its wet and it exists, so lets drink it! incredibly light in color, barely yellow, watery looking but immaculately clear, short fizzy head lasts a little while before fading back. the beer is corny adjuncts and pils malt, fermented to dry by an essentially flavorless lager yeast, almost blended with water, some minerals and trace herbal hops at the end, i wanted more from the yeast, it just tastes cheap or something, and while i like a brewer like this to have a crusher, especially one known for their sours, this leaves a little bit to be desired. that said, its nice with a slice of spicy pizza and there really is no limit to how much of this one could drink, both in terms of never getting full and never getting drunk. i have gotten used to higher quality and radially different beers from upland, but i think its cool that they make this, and i will end up drinking it again im sure...

12 oz bottle, Aug 25, 2016, so almost two years old. 7% ABV. Bought at Beverage Warehouse. Who knows where/what this beer has been through before I found it there.

Pour: tulip glass. Poured a golden/burnt orange. Fairly hazy. One finger head that quickly dissipates into a few clouds and a thin ring. Nice to look at.

Nose: cloves dominate with some bready yeast and malt. A little dark/tropical fruit, maybe some pepper as well. Pretty upfront and pleasant.

Taste: more peppery than the nose with cloves, other spice(?). Some banana, bready yeast/malt. As advertised, fairly dry and little aftertaste. Enjoyed this with Bigalora pizza. Would go with most anything.

Mouthfeel: fairly high carbonation even after two years. But just enough to tingle the senses but not overwhelm. Somewhat viscous but clean on the finish.

Overall: I’m not a Belgium ale expert but I would think this is a good representation. Spiced but not overdone. Plenty of complexity to make it an interesting and refreshing drink.

Thanks to ruzud for sharing, 2017
Huge frothy creamy thick head fades at a slower pace, nice lacing and long legs, pitch black color, great by not as great as some of the other Speedway variants

Nose super nutty coffee, a bit earthy coffee, fresh ummm, coffee, thick fudge and roasted malt notes but not acrid roast, mild barrel notes with some vanilla and a touch of rye whiskey but barely, fair nutty though, with a bit of dark chocolate cocoa, and touch of coconut, super dark chocolate fudge, a little caramel

Taste sweet thick dark malts, caramel toffee and big fudge, dark chocolate fudge, some decent barrel notes, rye whiskey a bit, sweet whiskey actually, a little spicy rye, vanilla, lush dark cocoa and fudge, chewy nougat and caramel but not a ton, a touch of alcohol, mild coconut barrel with the rye whiskey, some coffee, not a ton, fresh earthy roasted coffee but lighter, sticky sweet finish big nutty coffee and caramel with roast and fudge

Mouth is thicker bod, nice fluffy carb, a little alcohol but not much, chewy almost and fudgey

Overall nice but not a ton of barrel, coffee is a bit subdued as well

My go to Porter, and honestly, the one by which I have been judging others. The aroma is malty, almost bready. The color is gorgeous dark with a bit of head going to lace. The flavor is, to me, layers of different malts and char, complex but approachable. The mouth feel is quintessential Porter, not thin or stout thick, just the right amount of carbonation. Overall, the beer that, after drinking on multiple occasions, you look forward to the next one.

Poured from crowler into glass. Fill date is '7/18/18'.
Clear, deep straw colored body. One finger fizzy white head upon pouring, which almost disappears within a minute. Just a couple of stray lines of lacing.
Very floral aroma, from the mosaic hops.
Taste really allows expression of the floral hops, with no bitterness. There is a mention of hop burn on the tongue, in the aftertaste. Not quite the expression of yeast that I have found in other local Brut IPA's, but the yeast mustiness (the Champagne aspect) is there in the aftertaste, and the finish is definitely dry.
Medium mouth feel, with high carbonation. Fizzy in the mouth.
This Brut IPA is the "sweetest" among those I have sampled, but the "sweetness" is part of the floral hop taste. This beer has a very clear hop taste, which I think is a main objective in this style of beer - to allow full hop expression without any bitterness, and a dry finish (which snaps off the taste profile, and entices the drinker to sip again).

Nice hazy yellow-tan color with some nice fluffy head and lingering lacing. Smells of citrus and floral hops. Tastes of nice citrus rind hops - mainly orange, lemon and grapefruit - along with some milder floral hops, grain, malt and caramel. Smooth mild mouthfeel, nice bitter notes in the aftertaste, decent carbonation.

tasty, pretty sour from the tap, i love nectarines in beer and wish we saw them more, but its hard not to compare this to the raspberry sour i had from them recently, and this one is not even close. the nectarines are nowhere near as forward as the berries were, even though im not sure its the same base beer even, and thus maybe unfair to draw that comparison, i was expecting more after how much that one impressed me. it was so wooded and funky and dry, while this one seems so simple on the ferment, very acidic, clean and professionally done and all, not amateur or off in any way, but i get almost no oak if this is wood aged, and a lot of the fruit character seems to be fermented out. i get some tang from the skins and a little juiciness in the nose, more balanced by the grain in the flavor, i still get the fruit, and its very natural, but its incorporated so well that it doesnt run the show like the raspberries did in that one. less funk too, a cleaner and more severe acid profile. i like this a lot, its fresh and clean and not too sour to drink a good amount of. i am glad to have these guys in the market, and its cool that there are kegs around too. hard to believe there is a lager element here too, its crisp and all, but the yeast flavor is barely there, and the feel is overrun with the sourness. im making this sound not as good as it is, its really good for sure, great showcase of the nectarine as distinctly different and apart from peach or apricot, but it doesnt touch the raspberry one!

Really interesting beer. Poured from a can and I got fresh coffee just from the pour. Nice looking with purplish-pink haze and a modest pink head. Closer sniffing revealed berries and lemon beneath the coffee. This was moderately tart with bright berry and tropical fruit flavor, balanced throughout with coffee. Light bodied with a slightly chocolatey and coffee finish.

Dark amber body topped with a one-finger thick head, dense and creamy. Big aroma of caramel malts; pecans. Classic doppelbock sweetness; flavors match up with the aroma; a slight bit of alcohol; some low-key hop bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; plenty of heavy residual sugars coat the palette.

I would not think of an Italian doppelbock product, yet here one is and it does the style justice. Dense, malty, with just the right edge of booziness. Fine stuff...

Served in a Great Lakes pint glass

This beer pours a hazy amber color and is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

The aroma is raspberry forward. The base beer is still discernible though.

The taste is raspberry up front. The coriander comes through the middle. The finish is fairly clean.

Moderate mouthfeel with a high level of carbonation.

The raspberry is noticeable but not overwhelming. It is a decent beer for a hot, muggy day.

Lagunitas brews often have similar tastes. I think it is due to similar water, yeast, malts and hops (in that order), but I don't know what it is, but I think I could have picked this as a Lagunitas product blindfolded, without ever having previously tasting it.

It pours with all kinds of crap floating, a deep golden, with nice foam. Very cool looking. The aroma is a hoppy, yeasty affair, with obvious Lagunitas tones. The taste similarly is all Lagunitas, with more citra than usual. It sits nice and thick on the tongue.

Recommended. If you like other Lagunitas products you should like this too.

maybe this wasnt amazing when it was brand new, but after awhile in my cellar, its drinking really well. sometimes i wish i wasnt too lazy to upload photos of bottles, i think this has a pretty label that communicates all of local, classy, and quality, and i think the price was amazing whenever i bought it as nine bucks for a 750ml bottle. these guys just dont get enough credit, i would blame their hometown, but its not slowing weldwerks down any... i love this type of beer, a table saison or grisette type, rye and oats in the mash with wheat and barley, but low alcohol, cloudy, and at least partially wild. the funk in the nose of this yellow murky brew is awesome, mature brett, not sure if it has been like that since it was bottled or it developed a lot over the months, but its dry and super interesting. the label says its captured from the wild which is cool, it doesnt taste all the way cultured but its not stinky or amateur at all. i love all the grains in here too, the rye has a little old world earthy spice to it while the wheat and oats prop up the body, i cant believe its so low alcohol, its substantial and creamy even. a lemonade note, some bacteria i think setting in, but its on the dry side and very layered and textured and interesting. notes of honey, white tea, dried flowers, and dusty earthy pale malts along with the well developed brett wind it down, just awesome. i could drink this forever, and while its a step away from perfect refinement, its really, really good. i wish these guys got more love...

Peach & orange peel flavors up front; mild dry grass notes on the finish. No booze heat.
