355ml bottle purchased and consumed in the Czech Republic.

Clear amber body is capped by a modest but durable off-white head

Aroma: Sweet, light and medium toasted malts with a faint herbal-spicy hop background.

An unexpectedly rich chocolate malt flavor, with a striking chocolate note in the excellent finish.

M - Creamy; excellent carbonation; medium body.

O - a super-tasty and smooth Czech amber. Highly recommended.

A: Looks like a low carbonation cream soda, barely a head, transparent
S: Also cream soda-ish, but with more molasses with a mild malt.
T: Almost sour, leaning toward sour, bland,
M: slight fuzz of carbonation, almost mouth puckering
O: Not so great.

On tap into a tulip glass

A - Beer is clear with moderate to high carbonation rising fairly quickly towards the surface. Amber in color with a white head that dissipates very quickly to an almost non-existent thin lacing. 3.5/5

S - Toasted white bread along with a caramel sweetness and a slight peppery spiciness. Grassy hops also form an undertone to the malt bill of this aroma. Very clean smelling beer with no off aromas. 3.75/5

T - Sweet caramel along with a toasted white bread flavor dominates the front of the taste. This transitions into a light malt with a peppery note and a bit of butter. Grassy and herbal hops come out on the back end a lead into a bit of a bitter finish with the bitterness lingering slightly on the palate after swallowing but not for too long and the bitterness is not overly strong at all. 3.75/5

M - Very light and crisp with a moderate carbonation burn. Dryness from the finish lingers for a bit on the palate but is completely gone by the time the next sip comes around. 3.75/5

O - Easy drinking Vienna Lager that is light and crisp while retaining a nice flavor that is not as flavorful as many Viennas but is still well flavored nonetheless. Simple and straightforward. 3.5/5

It has a red body but the head and lace disappear very quickly. The aroma is very malty which is weird because the flavor is not. The flavor is bitter and hoppy. There is a bit of a sour fruitiness but it is mainly bitter. The after taste is almost like rhubarb. The body is on the higher end of thin.

Bottle sample thanks to Milos.A deep amber body crowned with a slightly off white cap. Bready nose has caramel, cereal, figs. Quite sweet with a medium bitterness that makes this fairly drinkable. Medium bodied, creamy, lengthy sweet finish. Thanks again Milos!

Picked up in Prague and enjoying in Israel.

As most Czech beers pours nice fizzy almost 2 finger head that fades at a med pace, lines of layered soapy lacing, crystal clear amber tan brown color with many bubles streaming up.

NOse is of a light lager, a bit of a toasty pilsner malt, hint of straw with that, a bit of an amber malt with a little sweet caramely like aroma, as well as light fruity lager aromas, and bit of a grassy hop.

Taste starts with a light syrupy flavor, almost malt extract or actual syrup added in, with a fair sweetness to it, little caramel flavor, little molasses chew like, mild amber toasty malts, hint of a toasty pilsner. Some grassy hops cut in, fair bitterness too a nice bitterness, but the hops turn a little herbal as it goes. Hint of a fruity lager, but not much. Also a little toffee and nutty. Finish is drier but slightly sticky, not really crisp, more bitter almost spicy hops now, with bit of caramel toffee and sweet syrup like flavors lingering.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, nice carb though.

Overall not bad, but not nearly as good as the other beers I had there. Better than a few of the other bottles I brought back, not quite macro swill, but not very well done either.

Brought home from the recent trip to Czech Republic. Deep-golden to light amber body is capped by mid-sized, persistent off-white head that sticks to the walls. The nose exhibits Vienna malt sweetness with light toasty notes and faint herbal-spicy (Saaz?) hops underneath.Flavor is light malty sweetness counterbalanced by hops providing relatively dry finish, followed by pleasant hop-bitter, herbal, mild-spicy aftertaste that lasts. No roasted or strong caramel notes, as it should be. Medium-light, moderately carbonated crispy body with gentle creaminess. (330 ml with freshness date 17.July 2011 , into the mug.)

Poured at a good temperature with a modest, cream-colored, fine head that settled to a spotty coverr and some lace. Color is a very clear orange brown with some nice bubble trails. Aroma is very mild - a little malt and a hint toffee. Flavor's like nose but much fuller: slight malt sweet with some good carbonic tang in front, then a hint of butter, a little bitter especially towards the end. Body and carbonation are decent. Finish is like flavor, of average length, and overall serviceable, but would be a lot better without that butter thing.

400ml on-tap in Prague Old Town (52Czk):
Caramel amber with a 0.25cm head that stays consistently over the opening minutes & holds as a thick lacing after that.

Sweet malts & caramel with toasted malts & a subtle, spicy aroma. Medium strength toffee as well as some sugar & touches of vanilla.

Slightly stronger than the nose with some caramel & toffee coming through alongside sweet malts and some spice from the hops. There is a few light, earthy hops as well & a touch of floral in there with some faint butter.

Smooth with a light-medium body & lively carbonation along with some spice. There is a good balance to the beer and it is quite sweet.

A very nice beer and definitely one worth trying if you ever come across it since it seems very hard to find outside of the Czech Republic.
