22oz bottle courtesy of dmeadows. The label states this to be "a bitter ale made from piney, citrusy American hops and a blend of English and American malts. It's heavily dry-hopped to give it an especially pungent nose."
The beer is a clear golden copper color with a thin tan head and lots of lacing. The aroma is definitely hoppy but it has a fairly large load of sweet caramel malts too, giving huge flavors from both sides. Honestly there might be too much sweetness for my personal tastes, but the hops shine through well regardless.
The beer tastes sweet initially, but it takes nanoseconds before the hops bitterness washes over your tongue. The after-taste is rich but balanced, like a light American barleywine. Full bodied and sticky, at least it seems sticky (maybe due to sugary sweetness).
