This style originated in the area of Cologne, Germany. It exhibits the more desirable features of both ales and lagers. Our Kölsch is pale gold with light body and a slightly dry palate. It has a mild bitterness and delicate hop aroma. This beer is a clean and pleasant thirst quencher, which earned a Bronze Medal at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival.

Enjoyed one today on the patio on Market Street in the afternoon sun. It wasn't terribly flavorful, but was light and dainty in texture and featuring a tiny kiss of hops. It is fine for what it is but I would have preferred it in a lighter glass than a point, if I were to be ultra choosy.

Picked up a bottle while stopping in Frederick. The right flavors are there to elevate it from a blonde all—doughy malt, earthy undertones, crisp finish with a hint of hops. But it tastes like the volume isn't turned up all the way. Solid beer, but there are better kolschs.

A: Pale golden amber in color, with a very small white head that turns into a ring quickly.
S: Light toffee, some earthiness, and a touch herbal.
T: Lightly fruity, with a nice malt flavor. finish is a little bit herbal, and lightly fruity on the citrus side.
M: Light and crisp body with a high level of carbonation.
O: Not a bad brew. light, crisp and refreshing. But nothing to write home about.

pours straw/gold color with one finger white head
nose is lager/adjunct blended with floral hops, grass
taste carries the adjunct flavors with some white grape juice notes. some bitterness that's a bit aggressive, battery acid like, metallic
clean feel and ample carbonation. bitterness does linger a touch but otherwise finishes pretty clean.
not familiar with this style but it is an easy drinking beer.

Clear golden straw colored pour with a minimal white head. Nice grainy aroma with a hint of floral hops. Taste has grassy and corn flavors upfront backed by malty bread and biscuit flavors. Light and thin body with moderate carbonation. Drinks easy.

This one pours a straw yellow, with a half inch head, and just a little bit of lacing.
Smells like bready malt and lager yeast, not much here, but doesn't smell bad.
This one tastes like mild grassy hops, with a fruity Kolschy yeast flavor, and bready malt. Not bad but very very bland.
It's very drinkable, with a crisp bite, and a moderate level of carbonation.
Not bad, but there are many better kolsches out there.
