Style: Oatmeal Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.20%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Yet another British style. Stouts are black beers which have strong roast and burnt characteristics. The dark malts used give this beer a wonderfully rich aroma and taste. It is not hopped very heavily and oats are used in this particular style because they lend a fuller mouthfeel.

A: Dark brown in color with a tan head.

S: Chocolate and molasses with bread notes.

T: Bread and malt with toffee notes, and a nutty finish.

M: Medium light feel, fairly aggressive carbonation, and a dry finish.

O: Overall not an amazing beer but something I could definitely see drinking in a brewpub somewhere.

Bottle at the table paired with the third course of the banquet at HomeBrewCon. Rich roasty chocolate and caramel with some earthy hops to counter. Creamy bubbly mouthfeel. Decent stout.

On tap at brewers alley
Appearance is nearly black/ dark brown
Aroma has roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate
Taste pretty much follows the aroma, little bit of vanilla, chocolate, and oatmeal, along with some nice roasted malt.
Beer is nicely carbonated, not too heavy, not too light
Overall this is a solid beer, not great, but pretty good.
Def the best beer I've had at this establishment, but that's not saying much (ever heard of hops tom Flores)

Rating from memory. This is a hometown beer for me, being from the Frederick area. Pours dark black with low carbonation and a bhit of off-white head. Nice and chewy mouthfeel here, and works nicely especially as it warms. Flavor is a big roasty and hearty oatmeal flavor that ends with a nice chocolate finish. Not a super sweet one with the roasty bitter balancing this nicely, but pretty solid.
