This is the lightest style of weizen beer. The grist contains a large portion of wheat, which lends a distinctive note to the malt body and aroma. This style is traditionally unfiltered and can have significant haze and cloudiness. Also, it has been brewed with a traditional Bavarian weizen yeast, which gives it a pronounced clove and spicy character, as well as banana and bubblegum, and even some slight vanilla notes.

By far their best beer. They use the right yeast and Tom does a decoction that really takes this beer to the next level. This is everything it should be a not much it shouldn't. Striaght from a new keg after problems adjusting the pressure I finally got me a pour. I had already had a few of their other offerings, but with some heartburn setting in I was switching to a lighter beer.
The beer poured rough but who cares it was a nice golden cloudy white head overflowing delight. Full of yeast and lots of lacing, was I in Germany? The nose was terrific, full of bannanas and meet back with a clove spice and a maltyness lingering. It was pure delight to drink this as it was all that I hoped for, a nice clean full malt flavor meet well by the yeast and phenolic bannana-clove punch. Subtle as a knife you don't see until it is in your ribs. I could drinnk this all day, enough said.

On tap at Brewer's. Beautiful hazy yellow/golden color with white head and decent lacing. Wonderful hefe wheat aroma, seems to be a touch of orange with the wheat. Flavor is excellent, good bready wheat base with some banana and I am still getting a touch of citrus orange. No bitter finish, very low IBU. Creamy, clean and smooth. Absolutely first class hefe, no experimentation here or weird adjuncts, just really nailed it.

An unfiltered yellow beer, cloudy without much head or retention. Smells like nice wheat-malts with a small hint of lemon.
The taste is characterized not so much by its wheat malt, but more for its prominent lemon zest. The wheat malt is there and of course makes gives it the characteristic hefeweizen taste, but the lemon flavor is more memorable. Its a little Pinesol-like, which usually turns me off of beers like this, but for some reason it worked for this one. It has an interesting mouthfeel that can only be described as a zing. Maybe reminds me of lemonade even, but not nearly as tart. Overall, easy and clean, refreshing and a good example of the style.

Matt brought a growler of this over to the house a few weekends ago. Thanks!
This beer appears yellow and extremely hazy. There is a large head and generous amounts of lacing on the glass. Aromas are typical Bavarian hefeweizen: banana, clove, wheat. This beer is tasty and refreshing - ideal for hot summer weather. This is without a doubt one of the better German style hefeweizens brewed in the U.S. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be having it on a much more regular basis, now that I'm aware of it.
