Should you ever venture to or through the Black Hills and Rapid City this'd be a good place to stop.

The atmosphere is good, a somewhat cramped and always busy restaraunt downtown. the building represents, you guessed it, an old fire station. Very sports oriented, if it's nice out i recommend a seat outside.

the food is good as it is one of the highest rated restaurants in the area, the beer isn't a let down either, however it may not blow your mind.

Good service, expect what youd expect at any other 3-4 star restaurant.

Good variety of food and beer, the brewery produces several beers, which ones will be available varies greatly.

A beer lover should definitely stop by, if anything it's better than a typical chain restaurant. and the beer is something other than anything else you'll find in a rather...hurtin for variety area of the US.

Love the building, but it was all down hill from there. I ordered the sampler of the 5 year-round beers. The first to are average examples of boring styles (Bell Tower and Blue Eyed Girl). The others were okay. The food ranged from fine to not good. Chips and salsa were a small pile of chips on a plate and not homemade salsa. Pasta was okay. The chicken in it was better. Service was helpful but obnoxious. I think of server just got off the set of a high school production of "Our Town".

Went there with my extended family today (9 people, 5 minors, three under 6). Food (at least the various barbecue foods we had) and service were great. Beer was good. I like the place.

Beer was fine but not excellent, selection was only theirs, which is fine, but not excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, but it's in the "nice place, good food, acceptable beer" category.

not sure why the locals arent real high on this place, i had a nice experience here, but heard some negative feedback around town. i saw no need for any of it. the place is a big compound, with a quaint old taproom and restaurant with old fire equipment around, a four sided bar, an upstairs dining area, visible conditioning/serving tanks, a awesome indoor/outdoor patio with fireplaces and big picnic tables, and an adjacent gift shop and winery. its a pretty impressive facility, and as big as it is, it still feels comfortable. as many as ten beers on tap, but no printed menu, just a wooden painted board, they must not rotate very much. i had the procrastination porter, and liked it quite a bit. looked like mostly basic styles for these guys, a wheat and an amber and a blonde etc. but the quality was there. the white chili i had was excellent, and the other food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled very good. service was prompt but maybe not as "beery" as you find in a lager city. i left here satisfied and eager to come back. it was a good experience, and i am keen to try more of their beer. very comfortable place to be as well.

Eight beers on tap. I tried their Hefeweizen wheat beer with my burger and thought they went well together Service was excellent and the food was tasty and came out quick. Recommend it if you are in the area.

Note: This review is based on full experience. Inside old firehouse with antiques and such on a Saturday night to a flight of beers and ribs. Food was great, beers were good to very good... I really like the Barely Blonde best. A band was playing on the patio and although it seemed to be the hangout in town there was plenty of room. The atmosphere more than the beer will bring me back again.
