Looks good in the glass. Plenty of foamy/ rocky head. No hops in the nose. None. Zero. Smell of dirty feet instead. Took a sip and I can't taste any hops either. Maybe it's an old bottle but I don't think so. It's super hot/ boozy. I can hardly get this one down. What a huge disappointment.

Pours a lovely clear golden color with a fluffy white head that laces well. Smells of piney and citrus goodness with hints of tropical fruit. Taste is similar with the emphasis on the pine and citrus, and some alcohol flavor comes through. Feel is medium bodied, good carbonation, bitter, and plenty of alcohol warmth. Overall, this is a decent TIPA and one that got me into them long ago. Nice to revisit this beer, but might not again for a while. First run on the canning line, hopefully they'll dial it in a bit more. Cheers!

Horrible. At Least for an attempt at an IPA and a double IPA at that. Huge caramel malt at the front of the tongue and you just don't recover from it. Horrible.

Costco in several Southern California communities now carries this TIPA in sixer cans for $10.99 plus tax. Each can is 1 pint (16 oz.) -- much larger than the average 12 oz. can. What a deal! Forget buying bombers. Buy the cans instead -- the flavor and freshness of this beer in cans are superbly preserved compared to bombers. Night and day difference between the cans and bottles. Left Coast Brewing Co. hails from San Clemente, CA.

This TIPA pours a clear orange with moderate carbonation. 1 finger of white foam. Good lacing and retention. The smell is citrus (orange), resinous pine and hops. Very good smell. The taste is identical to the smell -- citrus, resinous pine and bitter hops, all supported by a moderate malt backbone. A very well-balanced TIPA -- not too bitter (or harsh) and not overly sweet.

Excellent TIPA for an excellent price. Kudos to Left Coast Brewing. I'll bet hard cash that every reviewer who tried Hop Juice and gave it a bad review, tried it from a bomber bottle instead of a can. Try the can and you'll understand the difference. Otherwise, it's entirely possible that Left Coast Brewing perfected it brewing recipe for this TIPA within the past year. Regardless, this is currently an excellent TIPA and well worth drinking.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark amber translucent color with a thin layer of head. Some lacing. Aroma is sweet resinous hops with some citrus. Taste is pithy grapefruit and oily, resinous hops. Some pine. Its a bitter Double IPA but there is some malt flavor. A bit of an oily mouthfeel. Not too hot considering the ABV is almost 10. Drinks well even with the bitterness. Overall, its a decent Imperial Ipa that I wouldnt mind having again.

Bottle poured into a dogfish Spiegelau glass.

Has a dark golden amber look upon first poor. Smell is definitely the best thing about this beer. Lots of floral hops and citrus, some pine. Taste is nothing special and lacks plenty. Not impressed at all.

Poured into a tulip glass

A - Pours a hazy orange, copper color with an off white head, about 1 finger width, fast retention,

S - Very sweet hops, mango, pineapple, apples, oranges, wet grass, mildly piney, mild dank. It's strong point is in the sweetness of the hops.

T - Tastes nothing how it smells at first. Very Very malty up front and even with the finish, nice bitter. The taste is very one dimensional.

M - Medium body, oily, medium carbonation, very boozy at the end.

O - This really was a disappointment. The smell was heavenly, but the taste and aroma are nothing alike. The taste was this very boozy drink. If you like boozy DIPA's, then this is for you. Other than that, this was one dimensional, unbalanced, and for the price, I was expecting more.

ABV 9.7%

Poured into a claret.

Appearance-Burnt orange, lots of haze. One finger soapy off white head with very nice lacing. Lots of bubbles still clinging to the perimeter of the glass.

Smell-Fresh bottle as far as I know, and getting alot of caramel and chocolate malts, not so much hops. I get some grapefruit, lemon and pine in the backround. I thought this beer was dry hopped?

Taste-Damn. Huge unpleasant bitterness. This is just bitter as fuck, no balanced at all. Completely slapped in the face with hops and back of the throat is just burning. So dry, carbonation can't even help this. I guess I'm getting some light grapefruit but something is wrong with this beer.

...Even as this beer warms it gets worse...

Mouthfeel-Prickly, numbing and horrible. Not sure If I can drink much more of this.

Overall-Hands Down the worst IIPA I have EVER had. No balance, just slapped with bitterness, no malt, no fruit little sweetness. I'm going to try and finish the half of bomber that I poured, and will most likely drain pour the rest. The fact that you can get a Hop Stoopid for 4 bucks there is no reason for this beer to ever be purchased. EVER.

Had this on tap as a UK pink at Vivo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. A lovely blood red brew with a strong scent of molasses and berry along with the obvious hop aroma. A bit thin in the mouth for an imperial IPA, but the impact from the 9.7% ABV really packs a punch. Overall, this was as satisfying as a beer can get in that area. However, it could have had a bit more going on. I found it to be more of a strong brew than anything. This is a great beer for getting buzzed, but as for wanting something that should come with the imperial levels of magic that doubles/imperials hold, this is a bit different.

Apearance - Pours a golden orange with a slowly dissapating 1 finger head that eventually leaves a thin sheet.

Nose- Not much but grapefruit and pine.

Palate- Dissapointing. Hops are apparent in the same grapefruit/pine notes mentioned earlier, but it seems mush more emphasis was given to bittering than to flavor. The hops come off as astringent and medicinal.

Mouthfeel- Surprisingly somewhat watery, too light for the style.

Drinkability- If I had another, I would probably drink it, but I doubt I would buy another.

A- Pours a very hazy orange color with a fluffy white one finger head on top. Thin lacing sticks to the glass nicely.

S- Nice big aroma of pines, citrus, bread and alcohol. Very hoppy smell !

T- Nice balance of strong hops, citrus and malts. Bitterness from the hops hangs around for a while. Great IPA for hop lovers.

M- Light/medium body coats the mouth. The beer is smooth and refreshing despite its power.

O- Nice IPA if your strictly looking for a hop bite that has good drinkability.
