On tap at brewery, 02/04/08.
Transparent dark brown with long-lived carbonation.
No detectable aroma from taster glass.
Smooth, nutty flavor. Mostly clean finish with some lingering malt. Hop flavors so mild as to be virtually undetectable.
Simple, not terrbily flavorful, but consequently easy to put down your throat.

Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours black with a thin beige head that has decent retention. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is smoky with hints of caramel malt and vinegar. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, caramel and chocolate, and some coffee and vinegar in the background. The finish is weak coffee and malt with a slight hops aftertaste. Below average overall.
