Pours a pale deep golden and copper color that shows a nice fluffy white head with moerdate retention and above average lacing.
Aroma is of cereal grain, bread and biscuity malts followed by floral and citric hops (with orange and lemony notes).
Taste follows aroma starting out with a grainy and kinda stale malt profile followed by the citric/floral hop combination. Finishes with a mild bitterness that lingers somewhat in the aftertaste.
Body is medium to low and carbonation is high. Medium drinkability.
Overall an average pale ale with a malt profile that IMO is kind of stale and grainy, reminding me of a lager. Not much fruity ale-yeast contribution to the beer. The hops are pretty nice in this beer that leans more towards a British Pale Ale than an American.

350 ml bottle (exp. 08/2016) in a Leffe tulip. Great beer, specially for that price. It tastes and feel much better when warmer.

For a long time, Eisenbahn Pale Ale has been one of my first choices when I want a light, crisp beer with some flavor that's also a good value. Unfortunately, the last few bottles I've had, during late 2018 and early 2019, have suffered from a stale flavor and slightly sticky mouthfeel, in addition to an odd, vaguely minty aftertaste. For the moment, I'm not going to adjust my initial score from a few years ago, in the hopes that perhaps recent batches were affected from conditions at the brewery that will be corrected. That said, be advised that the characteristics of this beer may not be the same as the one people have rated through late 2018.
