Golden color with a thin head with low retention.
Very light aroma of bready malt.
Flavor is more interesting, sweet, clean and refreshing taste of malt and wheat and mild grassy - herbal hops. Notes of minerals and yeast. Dry though smooth aftertaste.
Light body with good carbonation and a crisp feeling.
Faithful to style and very pleasant. But there is so much you can harvest from this style, don’t expect complexity. It is a light refreshing beer until its last drop.

355mL bottle. Medium retention of a fluffy head. No lacing to speak of. It smelled a bit skunky upon opening the bottle but this cleared up after the pour. This seemed to be a little less flavourful than others in this style - not as much of the straw/barnyard taste. This had average carbonation and felt light on the palate.

The Eisenbahn Kolsch felt like a refreshing summer beer - not that far removed from the light pilsners so common in Brazil.

350ml bottle served in a pokal glass.

A: Pours a pale golden color forming a very small white head. Only few lacings are formed and left in the glass

S: Sweet grains, wheat and notes of citrus hops. Smooth and bready

T: Sweet grains. Malty character. Bready beer with notes of wheat. Metallic. Very smooth texture. Very light bitterness

M: Light smooth and watery body. Low carbonation. Grainy and metallic aftertaste

O: Easy drinking. Not my favorite style but a very pleasant beer

Straight pour from 355ml bottle to stemmed tulip; best by date of July 7, 2011 printed on label

Appearance (3.0): Just barely hazy, warm golden color to the body. ½ finger head settling to almost nothing, just a slightly off-white ring of bubbles around the side of the glass and some scattered patches of head on the top. Hazier on the “disturbing” re-pour. Should be lighter, but still a decent-looking beer.

Smell (3.0): Very light lemon, light wheat—again, stronger wheat scent on the re-pour, but still pretty modest.

Taste (3.5): Lemony, again, over a soft wheat background. Mild hop note throughout, grassy and crisp. The yeast presence is minimal, this must have been a very neutral yeast. It's good, but not overly kölsch-y.

Mouthfeel (4.0): Light, clean, crisp; carbonation is light, but constant, leaving cute little bubbles across the tongue. Feels smooth and watery—no thickness, no oil.

Overall (4.0): This feels like a macro lager going down, but much tastier. That is to say, this is about as drinkable as it gets, not sustaining at all. It’s like lemony wheat beer with a super-neutral yeast strain—really not spot-on for a kölsch. This was enjoyable though, and it’s good to be reminded that not all Brazilian beers are watery AALs, and some are made with nice balance. This ought to be what all Brazilian beers are like: light, refreshing, but still tasty. Great warm weather beer.
