Aroma: Sweet Tart Strawberry Jolly Rancher Candy with hints of watermelon. Slight Horse Blanket/Barnyard with hints of Pale Malt.

Appearance: Clear Orangish Reddish Pink with a faint Pinkish White Head.

Flavor: Tart, Barnyard/Horse blanket Balanced with Pale Malts and a delicate Strawberry flavor and aged hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-Light Body, Medium Carbonation.

Overall Impression: A wonderful Spontaneous Fermented Beer (Beer that is exposed to the surrounding open air to allow natural/wild yeast and bacteria to literally infect the beer). Basically tastes like a Belgian Lambic that is balanced with a perfect strawberry flavor. If you aren't a beer connoisseur you would probably think this was a wine cooler.

These guys do a great job at fruit beers, no question. The Strawberry's lone weakness is its color, a pinkish red that lacks the vibrancy some of these fruit beers have. In the light, it almost looks like a ketchup/mustard mix, a brownish hazed tone that doesn't quite do the vivid, lively flavors justice.

And those flavors are great! A seltzer water, fruity, Clearly Canadian type flavor. Tart, sugary strawberries with a hell of a clean finish. Goes down like a nice sparkling juice. Highly quaffable.

12oz. bottle

Pours a clear reddish color with a creamy light pink head that thins. Thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma of fresh sweet strawberries with a light tartness. I think I catch a hint of hops now and again.

Taste is a burst of fresh, sweet strawberries upfront that leads into a mild bitterness and puckering tartness. Leaves my mouth watering and wanting another sip.

Medium body, mild carbonation.

Very tasty and drinkable fruit beer, would be labeled a lambic if brewed in a different geographic location. If you enjoy this style, look for this one.

Appearance: Deep brown-amber pour, topped by a frothy, pink-tinged, off-white head that fades quickly with minimal lace.
Smell: Sweet ripe strawberries, with whiffs of candied raspberry and tart cranberry. Amazingly, some sweet malt does poke through all of this fruit.
Taste and mouthfeel: Starts with syrupy-sweet berry juice, then a puckery tartness suddenly rides the fizzy carbonation to the top. Finish dries somewhat with a lingering lambic-like tartness, and ever-present strawberry essence.
Drinkability: Pricey... but I'd have this again with a big ol' slice of cheesecake!

12 oz fat bottle with an extra long neck. "Beer with Stawberry Juice Added" right on the label.

A clear shiny golden ruby color under a creamy white head. Head didn't stay long but laced the glass nicely. An aroma right on a fresh picked basket of strawberries.
Taste was tart and sweet combination of strawberry flavors. Not fizzy, or fuzzy like other fruit beers. This one is creamy, rich full bodies feel. Very even. Tart crisp and refreshing finish. Very dry, and leaves you ready for another sip. Just like the apricot version, but stawberry flavor is more appealing to me.

A perfect end of the night beer. I think it's every bit as good as the apricot version.
(I am just about finished with the stock of fruit beers from the summer, whew.)

A- A cloudy orange. Not much head or lacing but still a good looking beer even with out any foam.

S- This smells delicious. Cooked strawberries. It's like shortcake filling- real strawberries. It smells sweet but still good and fruity.

T- Real strawberries just like the smell. Some pale maltiness. This tastes like they really crushed strawberries into the liquid not some red dye #5 and artificial flavor.

M- Sweet but not overbearing or cloying. Nice carbonation

O- A really good beer. Not what I was expecting.

Not as good as its apricot brother. Deep, sweet strawberry aroma. The flavor of the beer backs up the aroma and continues straight through to the finish. Slightly tart.

A pinkish-red liquid pours forth with a big champagne-like head, all fizzy and short-lived. No lace at all.
Smell is, of course, strawberry, a sweet, strong strawberry and a hint of malt.
Taste follows the nose with strawberry, light hoppiness and some malt sweetness.
Medium bodied, smooth, a light effervecence all over the mouth. Finishes clean and slightly dry, not cloying at all.
Drinkability is very high if you like strawberry. Another drinkable dessert, a beer masquerading as champagne.

Bright, pale-reddish color, with a full, fluffy, creamy head.
Aroma: strawberry..sweet, delicious...strawberry...with a tiny touch of tart..
Taste...mmm, tasty, but tart...interesting to taste a fruit beer, that's not a Belgian lambic, but still contains that certain sourness...let's try again...Sweet, TART,...sweet, TART..(.they make candies like this, don't they, popular at Halloween.?)..Full flavor, medium body, nice, tasty finish....a sweet, tasty, rewarding fruit ale...on the other hand, way too expensive, like many other fruit beers, such as lambics...I'd prefer to taste these flavors, however minorly in other brews...that aren't quite as pricey...glad to know it exists, though....

Pours a clear amber brew.

Smell is intense sweet and sour strawberry scent.

Taste is sweet and sour fruit similar to the Lindemans fruit lambics. Strong fruit flavor dominates this brew mostly strawberry with some apple and grape flavors too. A tasty brew that screams STRAWBERRY in a loud voice.

Mouthfeel is good.

Tasty brew with a lactic acid punch, about as drinkable as a Lindemans.

500ml bottle bought from the Vineyard, Belfast..

Poured a pinky amber colour with hints of copper... Head was white with a slight hint of pink and poured quite foamy but faded pretty quickly...

Aroma - Very sweet, biscuity/shortbread notes, strawberries and cream, floral hints, some spiciness, very slight maltiness....

Taste – Sweet but not too sweet, strong strawberry notes, hints of spiciness, some sourness, vanilla notes...

Feel - Very creamy with a light sharpness underneath... medium body. Pretty drinkable...

Overall - A pretty good fruit beer. Definitely worth a try....

The old world style bottle of this beer caught my eye at the liquor store. It was only after I took a second look that I realized it was strawberry beer. Then I knew I had to take it home! My expectations were very high due to the high cost per bottle. This 12 oz bottle looks bigger than it is.

The aroma of strawberries hit me as soon as I popped the cap of this bottle. As I poured the beer, the smell just got better, inviting me to take a drink. The pinkish/amber color left an off-white, 1.5 inch head which settled into a nice lace after about 45 seconds. I was expecting this to taste like a Lindeman's; however, there is much more of an acidic beer taste to it, even with all of the delicious strawberry flavor. It was very smooth in my mouth and left me with a mild tart strawberry aftertaste.

At $6 a bottle, I don't know that I will be purchasing this in large quantities, but it might be nice for special occasions. This is definitely a dessert beer. I had trouble getting through an entire bottle in one sitting due to its sweetness. It's worth checking out, but I prefer the cost and taste of a Lindeman's.

Poured a very pale rusty pink colour with no head. Very light lacing. The strawberry smell is immediately noticeable. The smell is very close to strawberry jam; very sweet. There is also a wine cooler characteristic about it [the smell]. Carbonation is mild and the taste is just about what you'd expect from the smell. Very tart and very dry. This is basically strawberry lambic. Not overly sweet; very pleasant. I'm a big lambic fan so I really enjoied this one. I'd buy it again.

A- dirty redish/orange color. looks very cloudy but no sediment. thin lacing lasts till end of drink

S- I bought this beer because i poured one for someone at work tonight, as soon as i opened the bottle the smell about knocked me over. the smell is actually why i purchased the beer, it was very intense and chalk full of strawberry...actually smells identical to a fruit roll-up.

T- Based upon the smell description you are either curious or disgusted, i was curious. Very very sweet, not as much as a lambic and also lacking the tartness of some lambicss and drinks such as red-bach, i think i could actually drink more than one of these without feeling sick. no alcohol taste at all, strawberry is def. the most notable flavor all the way through but it's light enough to prevent an overpowering taste. After taste is pretty quick to leave the scene. a good balance of something different.

M- Great carbonation, light viscosity, very pleasant light feel.

D- Very drinkable. As mentioned before, I could probably drink a few of these, which is impressive given it's level of fruit flavor and sweetness. I'm not one for fruity beers but I have to admit this thing is GOOD. I can see this as a regular in my rotation this summer, very refreshing. This beer really took me by surprise, i'd recommend that everyone at least try it. It's a unique drink and you may be surprise by how enjoyable it is, i know i was.

Melbourn's makes a very tasty strawberry beer. The fruit flavor and aroma is dominant. I really enjoy the unique aroma of that reminds me of real fruit unprepared and al ittle dirty. I find the finish a bit dry and the beer flavor is rather one dimensional. The finish is rahter dry for a fruit beer but this kinda nice as you are left wanting more. There are some fermentation characters coming through but not like the belgians. Don't get me wrong this a fine beverage and I enjoy it about once a month. (My wife likes it too.)

As much as I like Lindemans Lambics, I think I’ve found another brewery producing some quite quaffable brews. The pour is a striking “Strawberry red” color, the head immature, and the lace adequate to cover the glass. The nose is loaded with the aromas of over ripe strawberries also sweet and quite appealing. Ambrosial start, with an accompanying light tartness, the top skinny in feel and the finish astringent and the hops hidden under the strawberry sweetness, the aftertaste dry and sweet, quite a treat especially as an after dinner aperitif.

Unique thin longneck bottle. Pours a nice strawberry color (what else?). Aroma was....yep, you guessed it: strawberries, with a little malt and some spicy notes as well.

Carbonation was moderate and the taste was a nice mix of the fruity aspects and malt. Not much hoppiness. All in all, it was rather sweet - not quite as bad as a wine cooler mind you, just overall sweetness. A very nice dry finish. So easy to quaff down in massive quantities. Recommended if you want something different from the regular stuff.

Appearance: Mahogany color, slightly hazy, not much head retention (though that's normal in lambics).

Aroma: Sour fruit smell, with an iron-like, slightly cheesy, sweaty undercurrent. Top-notch lambic-like aroma.

Flavor: Sweet strawberry start, with sourness kicking in and balancing it out. Slightly puckering, astringent finish. The aroma characteristics disappear in the taste, unfortunately.

Body: Reasonably full, lightly effervescent.

Wonderful dessert beer, but needs more wild-yeast character.

The beer pours a nice red color with a thick frothy pinkish head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a sweet strawberry scent that is mellow and pleasant to the nose. The taste is good as well. It has an awesome strawberry flavor that goes down with ease and finishes tart and refreshing. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium bodied beer with good carbonation. I love this lineup of fruit beers. They go down too quick. I wish they weren't so damn expensive.

355ml bottle

Pours with a rich syrupy ruby body, thick pinky white head with good retention.

Smell, fresh strawberries, some fruity esters. Lots of strawberry sweet aromas, mixed berries. Theres a certain almost yogurty creaminess too

Taste, smooth and fizzy strawberries, syrupy mouthfeel. A fair whack of sweetness but not overpowering, some slight tartness on the finish

Another tasty dessert beer from the Melbourne Bros brewery

Comes in a unique mash tun shaped bottle.
Well carbonated strawberry-gold with a two finger off white red tinged head, leaves thin webs of lace.
Sweet, strawberry aroma, tart, grassy hop note.
Juicy strawberry taste, tastes real not processed chemicals as can often dominate a fruit beer. A tart flavor note balances the sweetness. The malt is a lightly toasted presence, covered by the fruit.
Very easy to drink, but the taste would be overpowering after awhile.

A great beer! This beer poures a beautiful peach colour with some reddish tones. It smells of fresh strawberries and spring water, and it tastes delicously like strawberries. This 'beer' lacks any real beer flavour butI did not mind that when I had this last night, as it hit the spot quite well.
An excellent dessert beer with a creamy mouthfeel. Although this beer is quite drinkable, I could see it getting old fast. So don't stock up. A very good, different beer, but it does not quit elive up to the $107 a case hype. Even if it is expensive to make it that way.

Pours a peach-hued medium amber color with a foamy pinkish light tan head that leaves a sticky lace on the sides of the glass as it recedes. Nose is sweet fresh strawberries and black cherry like tartness—a nice balance. A strong carbonation produces a very zesty and lively mouthfeel. The taste has the same good balance as was in the aroma with notes of sweet strawberry syrup and tart raspberries. Makes for a very nice dessert brew though it’s not cheap at $5.99 a bottle.

Melbourn Bothers Strawberry beer pours two stiff fingers of foam
over a cloudly orangy brew. There's not a lot of carbonation and the
nose is sweet strawberry jelly. The flavor is tart strawberry over English
malts, with salt, citrus, and medicinal notes and a slight herbal hop finish
for balance. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Not exactly a true
lambic yet not as sweet as some I've had. There's something really drinkable
here. This could be a good choice for a breakfast beer. Really tasty, and
pretty adventurous considering it's an English brewer making the stuff.

Found on shelves at Oak Hill liquor in Austin, hadn't seen it back home in Houston. 12oz bottle.

Appearance-Amber, cloudy, very carbonated. No head, just lacy traces around edge. Very appetizing.

Smell- Strawberry shortcake! reminds me of the filling you buy at the store to add to your berries when making shortcake/pie/cake with strawberries. The berries are all you can smell on this one.

Taste-very sweet. The berry flavor is a more natural one than the nose, as it tastes as if the strawberry is crushed right in! After searching found a bit of malt underneath. Simple in flavor, a tad sweet for my taste, but good in flavor itself.

Mouth-feel- Thin in body but prickly with the sweet flavor. it has a little pucker in it.

Overall-a good dessert beer, glad I tried it, but probably won't buy this one just to drink again. I would recommend it however. Much better than much of it's competition.
